Okay. So about 5 days ago, my check engine light came on. I wasn't too concerned because it has come on twice since I bought and has gone off about a week later. Then, today, I turn on my car and the ABS, VDC off, and Slip lights are all on. When I turn my car off, I hear a noise coming from the back left part of my engine bay. And by back left, I mean the part closest to steering wheel. Then, about 10 minutes later, all three lights went off and the noise has stopped but my check engine light is still on. Whats going on?

That sounds terrible.

Quick answer? Hit an auto parts store (like AutoZone) and they will read the code that is causing the check engine light for free. It will give you a place to start. Even if they can't tell you exactly what is causing the problem, they can give you the code and you can Google it.

As for the sound - no idea. The only thing that could be running (I think) after you shut off the engine/power is the fan.
