How do you accelerate?

I'm a new G35 driver coming from a Lexus RX300 where I accelerated slowly considering that SUV didn't have the best acceleration.

How do you guys accelerate on your G35? I should also note my 06 is a sedan.

In my one week of owning it, I see myself bringing it to 3000rpm until it shifts to the next gear. Am i being too rough?

I want to conserve fuel and not burn it for stupid accelerations.

Just curious. Thanks guys!

if you give it too little of gas you will get worse MPG, 3k RPM is fine to get up to.

Also dont forget to bring it all the way to redline sometimes live a little

Around town I shift around 2-2.5k. I don't see the point of racing to the next light.

But I do hit high rpms here and there daily; nothing bad will happen if the car is in proper operating temperature.

^I do the same.

At about 2750-2800 rpm's the rasp and loudness start to kick in from the straight pipes and glass packs...
