G35 sedan vs. G35 coupe midpipe (pics)
Recently swapped the midpipe off of my sedan for a G35 coupe midpipe. Took a pic of the two so those interested could see the difference (when I searched I didnt see any comparo pics so wanted to share).
The sedan mippipe is off of my 2004 G35X sedan, the coupe midpipe is off of a 2005-2006 G35 coupe. You can see the huge difference between the two, sedan midpipe is quite a bit heavier obviously. In terms of sound, huge upgrade imo. Really like the nice deep tone my exhaust has now, much "sportier". All other exhaust components are the same (stock), all I changed was the midpipe. Fit was great, direct swap and just needed to tweak a heatshield a bit so it didn't rub on the coupe midpipe.

I know that. I just need the size b.c when I get it I have to use my car to get it. I only have the back seat hole to fit it in the car. I want to get an idea of how it will look in the car, since its an hour ride.

With the coupe mid pipe I got some slight droning crushing around 45mph, but once I got the hr y pipe the droning was gone.

He was actually talking about the 05-06 sedans. They are actually a little smaller than the 04 sedan mid pipe. Some people would prefer to use the 05-06 sedan midpipe on the 04.

Either way, I'm pretty happy with the mod. Cheap and easy w/ improvement to sound and maybe some slight power gains (shed a few lbs too not that it matters much). Probably stick with this setup for a while (also recently installed a Stillen intake and z tube as well as a 5/16 motordyne spacer). Have an Eiback rear sway bar, Tein H-tech springs, and 19 inch G37S coupe wheels that all need to still go on the car.

I considered the Stillen Gen 2 exhaust, but came down too not wanting to spend a grand on it, just too much considering how much I paid for the car (I bought it off my Dad for cheap to use as a daily driver). For $80, the midpipe was worth a shot and I'm very pleased with the end result. Driving around the car sounds totally stock, not loud at all. But when I step on it, it sounds like a completely different car with the coupe midpipe and the other mods I did (stillen intake, ztube, 5/16 spacer).

i have a 05 coupe middy, I wire brushed it after spraying it with some break cleaner, came out great ! after that used high temp paint and sprayed her black so it would prevent any rust . . . obviously it doesnt matter how it looks but as far as conditioning, its mint. I'm just waiting on my muffler and im going to install both in one shot.
