Very rough going into gear?

Okay. I dont know if anyone else has ever noticed this but whenever I go into 1st 2nd or 3rd, it is very rough. Im not talking about shifting or anything to do with the clutch. Just moving the shifter into 1st 2nd and 3rd. It never feels smooth. Almost like there is some resistance going into gear. Why is this? Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my car?

Maybe its time for a new clutch or maybe you're not pushing the clutch pedal all the way in.

Sounds like the synchro's in the transmission are getting bad. Maybe change the Trans fluid and put a bottle of friction modifier in.

Shifter not going into gear smoothly?

I have an 05 6MT. For a while now, I have noticed that going into most gears, I guess 1-5, I have trouble sliding into gear. It's not smooth by any means. I guess a good way to describe it would be that it does not feel lubricated. It doesn't require a lot of effort for me to shift but you can just tell that it doesn't feel right. Or at least in my opinion it doesn't. What could cause this? I can think of two reasons.
- Worn out syncros
- Old transmission fluid..
Anything else?
I'm hoping flushing the tranny fluid and replacing it will help the problem because it is obviously a lot cheaper than getting new syncros.
Thanks

Get used to it, the syncros in this trans are shot from the factory -it will always be knotchy...make sure you only get MTF from the Nissan dealer, can't stress that enough. It will be the right number

Once you've driven a late 70s Ford semi, the G35 shifts like a dream.

There is no such thing as flush with a MT, just drain & fill that's a beginning. When was the last time you replace the fluid in your trans? If you'll switch to either AMSOIL or RedLine synthetic MT fluid you'll be able to shift smoother. There's no need to use OE fluids in your MT that only applies to owners of ATs!
