Car pulls left, camber not adjustable

Hey guys,

My 05 G35 sedan pulls left and can't be aligned because camber is not adjustable. Was quoted around $1k to replace struts to correct the problem. Any other (cheaper) solutions or do I pretty much have to get them replaced if I want to have an aligned car again?

lol 1k, tell them to kiss your backside...you can find used/new performance replacements very easily(extremely cheap)...i honestly wouldn't trust whoever gave you that advise, go get a second opinion

They quoted me for 2 front sensa trac struts at $220 a piece, rear sensa trac shocks at $55 a piece, and labor around $320. Not sure why all that hoopla since it just shows right front camber being off.

Do you think it'd be best to replace both front for aftermarket parts or just replace the faulty one with an OEM strut?

Even if you front struts were slightly bent, on these cars they don't affect camber.

Stay the F away from those guys.

You probably need new compression rod and transverse link bushings.

Post your alignment numbers. Camber, and bad struts don't equal a bad alignment. Has the alignment guy ever understand the toe adjustment? If your numbers are acceptable, and you are still drifting on the highway start will replacing the WHOLE compression rod.

Caster is boarderline shot, but you should start by not going to that mechanic anymore. Why does he think struts are going to align your car?

You should replace your compression rods if your car is drifting on the highway. If it's going straight I wouldn't really care too much about the alignment.

I don't think you need to replace the shocks, and it sounds like your being taken for a ride if that's what they want you to believe!

Its your caster, mine the same way. My alignment guy even told me so after he set up my adjustable camber arms. Dude even knew to set the car up with G35 coupe specs without me telling him. lol

There is a difference between camber and caster. Replace both compression rods to get the caster the same on both sides and keep your shocks.

x6 (is that what we're at now?) for going somewhere else, and that replacing struts won't change this.

Either you're misunderstanding, or these guys are trying to take your money.

Also it seems unclear, after the allignment it's still pulling badly, is better, or is fine?

Toe and Caster are the things that will cause it to pull/drift. Camber won't really do that, not in the way you describe. Especially not negative camber, and especialy not -1* of camber, that's nothing.

I'm with AARON as far as checking/replacing the compression rods and bushings.
