This used to happen to me more often when I first got my G and now I honestly can't remember the last time it's occurred. So I'm tempted to agree that it might be an ECU issue. Being an aggressive driver, perhaps I "trained" the ECU to make my G more responsive. However, I too caught on early as to how to avoid the lag with the AT by hesitating slightly before going to WOT and might instinctively do this now. Incidentally, this lag experience has only happened for me on surface streets at speeds under 40 mph. I'm pleased to say that it has never happened to me on the freeway....nor has it ever happened in MM (which I spend most of my time at WOT with...as it should be) thank goodness.

Drive in MM, the torque is always there when you need it.

Well im not sure if this will help but.... One of the reasons why you would get an upgraded ECU is because the G35 at WOT decreases HP/TQ by as much as 20% when nearing redline...

It's the electric lock-up torque convertor. Take a while for the computer to send lock-up signal to torque convertor.

Anybody out there with the 10 wire grounding kit think that the lag goes away with the kit?
The grounding kit does make for slightly less delay, and shifts can be a bit crisper. All cars, including BMW, etc. can be felt to have the lag, even in their "Sequential Manual" trannies that are highy rated. it's the nature of the beast, and the only way to not have it is to go MT.

But at least the H-G system I have improves the shifts, probably as much as possible short of a tranny re-valve or re-program.

Maybe some of us don't have faith that Nissan can make a good manual tranny for these cars?
