Infiniti Used Car Warranty

Hi, I was looking to buy an older G35 sedan (05-06) and was wondering if Infiniti sold any factory backed warranties for used cars.Probably going to have about 60-80k miles on it. I'm a big Ford guy and you can buy Ford warranties for all of their used cars going back to model year 2003 at this point and it's just like a new car warranty. Does Infiniti/Nissan offer something like that?

Thanks.

Infiniti's elite warranty has a sliding mileage/time scale. You can choose what you want. If the car has under 75K miles you can get up to 4 years/48K miles additional. more miles than that and you cannot go that long or far. Search the forum; there is a thread that will give you insight into some dealers around the country that sell them for far less than your local dealer. One is in Arizona; another in New Jersey. There may be others. The car will have to be checked out before they will warranty it (there's a fee for the inspection), unless there is a complete maintenance history on it (most likely dealer maintained).

I purchased my '05 G this past July and the extended warranty that Infiniti wanted me to purchase was outrageously high...somewhere in the range of $3500 for 4 years maybe? I ended up purchasing a 6 year warranty for around $850 through my Credit Union that had much better coverage. I would suggest checking that avenue out if you have one available.

I purchased the Infiniti Elite warranty when my car was newer and still under the original warranty. That alone and considering the car's age at the time made it an affordable purchase. I paid less than $2k for 4 years/50k miles. Well worth it as it paid for itself at least twice. My dealer was great and replaced everything I complained about with no objections - including a slightly noisy A/C compressor ( it was still functional and cooled perfectly).

If you are still eligible for the warranty, I would recommend dealing with Courtney Mutema at Infiniti of Scottsdale. She is the finance manager there and gave me the best deal vs. all the other dealers I received quotes from.

Another option is to consider a non-manufacturer based warranty offered by a credit union. I have heard great things about Route 66.

Lastly, if you are going to have to spend a lot on a warranty, I would just go the self-insure route and put the money into a "oh crap" fund that would be used exclusively for unexpected repairs.

The G35 is a fairly reliable car and should not require expensive repairs compared to a Ford. You might just save yourself some money if you just go out of pocket.

I second GraphiteGSdn's advice. Courtney sold me my warranty and she beat all the other dealer's prices. She is very knowledgeable and went above and beyond in answering my slew of questions. I have recently used my warranty and I am very pleased with Infiniti Service. They are very willing to help and solve any issue your car might have.

Infiniti/Nissan is the only extended warranty you should ever consider! Aftermarket warranty's company's are like used car salesmen, you know you're getting screwed just not where!

I have heard great things about the Carmax extended warranty... Pretty sure there is an editor on Jalopnik who bought a Range Rover and Raves about their warranty...
