Rumbling noise & Intellikey problems

Hey guys, I drive a 2006 G35X Automatic, and I have 2 questions:

1) My car makes a rumbling sort of noise when I let go of the gas pedal. It goes away when pressing the gas or braking, but only comes when I'm moving but not on either pedal. This happens at any speed, any RPM. I think it's a tire alignment problem since I just had 2 tires replaced at a ghetto tire shop and haven't had the alignment done yet, but what are other possible reasons for this?

2) My intellikey doesn't work at all anymore. I thought the battery had died so i replaced it and it still doesn't work. Could I have reset it by accident and need to reprogram it to my car, and if so, how do I do that? I'd also like to buy another intellikey in case I lose this one. How do I go about doing this (preferably not from the stealership)?

Thanks!

Maybe wheel hub bearings. They are known to go out and more frequently on the x.

Why would you rather use your key? What did you read? I love mine and will never own another car with a key after having the convenience.

To answer your question, to program a remote, you would need TWO remotes already programed to do it yourself. If you only have 1, you need to go to a dealer, or a locksmith that does intelligent keys. The reason for this is to prevent a valet, or parking attendant from copying your key when they have 1 in your possession.

Wheel rumbling could be a few things. Hard to diagnose over the net. Could be tires. coule be a wheel bearing, could be a brake rotor/pad issue from being worn down too far.

Just the fact that to program the intellikey you gotta go to the dealership and what they charge for it. I know some people do it free but I called mine and they charge $135.

I never used the proximity features anyway, only the lock, unlock, and trunk release buttons. I always use my other key to start the car and stuff. I'm planning on just buying a regular key fob online and doing the programming method with inserting the key 6+ times, etc.

Speaking of that method, I actually tried to do it with the intellikey, but no matter how many times and how fast/slow I insert my key, the hazards never come on. Any suggestions with that? I'm scared I'll order a set of key fobs online and wont be able to program them.

Do you have two keys? You cna only do that method if you have TWO different keys. It's to prevent theft by a valet copying a key.

Check with a locksmith that does smart keys now. More and more do it and a dealer is not the only option these days. You can purchase a key off Ebay as well, have the key cut to the ignition and then program it yourself AFTER you have two different keys already programed and functioning.

You're really missing out on a convienent feature with the ikey. Nothing like having your hands full and being able to open the trunk or door without fumbling in your pocket/purse...especially in the winter when bundled up or wearing gloves.

Don't give up just yet

The key is the least of my worries now. I was on my way to the shop to get the noise checked out and my rear left wheel fell off and hit another car... my car has been towed to the shop and im waiting for the news now...

Wheel is all fixed now! About the keys: I have 4 keys including the wallet door-only key, and one completely broken intelligent key fob thing. where do I go from here?

So you have two of these? If you remove the key from them, both keys will start the car and open the doors?

If so, then you probably only need to program the transponders.

Try this method, and see if it works

Programming the actual keys can only be done by a dealers. I was incorrect to say you could do it with two keys. However, if the actual transponder is not working, but the keys will both start the car, then you are in luck and only need to program, or replace the remotes

I only have 1 of those, the previous owner says he lost the other one. I have a total of 3 keys that fit into the intellikey, 1 regular key, and 1 wallet door-only key, and 1 intellikey fob thing pictured above.

i tried doing the method you linked but no matter how many times i insert and take out the key, the hazards never come on. I followed all instructions about timing, inserting all the way, and completely removing, nothing works!
