03 Alternator Stuck?
03 Alternator Stuck?
I have an 03s, manual fan, auto, rwd, with an alternator that refuses to come out. I have both the plug and terminal nut removed, both mounting bolts removed. The stay bracket is swung out of the way. The alternator itself looks to still be pivoting on the thru-bolt mount but it won't slide down at all. I don't see what I am missing with the FSM. Both bolts are still fully intact as well. Anyone, help please? I don't want to start pounding on it.

You have to sort of swing and pivot while you try and pry it down with a screwdriver.
The top bolt tends to pinch a bit when you tighten it up, so when you remove the bolt, you need to pry it out of that top pivot bracket.

Well I ended up getting it out. There was a stupid little bracket on the top rear of the alternator (that I couldn't see before) that mounts to some flexible hose. Honestly it looks pretty worthless, but that's what the issue was.
