We may be on to something here. Could be an unmetered air problem at high vacuum.

Hey, guys, just wanted to let you all know my problem has been completely resolved and I'm convinced its an unmetered air issue. I took it thru the whole rpm range slowly, then quickly a few times and never felt the blip.

I changed my PCV, cleaned my MAF and TV and fixed a crack in my intake tube. I'd say just look for vacuum leaks in the intake, change the PCV, and clean the MAF.

I wonder if it's a timing issue. Timing chains can stretch over time. How many miles on your car?

I bet that Intake has a larger diameter MAF housing... Go to a tuner?

Are you sure it isn't the torque converter going into full lock?
Well, I had this same prob..its gone tho. I'm 6mt.

I noticed it go away, after cleaning MAF, cleaning TB, changing pcv, and fixing a crack in the coupler between the intake tube and TB. Problem is, is I did it all at once, so not sure what fixed it. Figured it was an unmetered air issue anyway, but he says he did this and its still there.

(On another note, I'm now wondering if my tune is as good as it can be since I had those issues.)

I have very mixed feelings regarding uprev lately... I need some time before I go ranting though.

Be that as it may, it transformed my car. Like a whole different machine. It now loves to rev, its smooth all the way thru redline at any speed (throttle position) and any gear. Pulls way harder and I swear after it learns for awhile I'm getting like 4-5mpg.

Anyhow, this rpm blip thing is really strange. I've read about it on other forums too, and every case seems to be at a different rpm. It's really weird.

That's kind of weird too. Mine was at 4500. I saw someone on NICO who's was (if I remember correctly) 2200.

I wonder if mine was just amplified cuz of my previously stated probs and maybe it's still there in a lighter form. I'm gonna try to make it do it again. I only go up to 4500rpm when I'm stomping on the gas anymore, so maybe it'll do it at slower rpm climbs. It didn't before tho. I'll report back in a little bit.

I am curious as to why it only happens to him in manual mode tho. Not sure what that would have to do with it. If yosip and I are both 6mt, we have no way of comparing (obviously).

Alright, I just tried to go thru 5k rpm as slowly as possible thru gears 1-4 and nothing. It's completely gone.

ok so heres what i came up with. i changed pcv, cleaned maf, not a damn thing. i did have a slight leak when i did the coolant bypass. so i put sealant on the t body gasket as well as between the spacer. so i borrowed a friends obd reader. what i can come up with was that with my sometimes shitty idle. that 1 of my 02 sensors is going bad. no cel but when i checked the live data 3 o2 sensors were fluctuating at around .480-500. where as my primary bank 2 (upstream i believe) was at .200-290 . i think that maybe 1 of our o2s are going bad. what i did buy was a new denso o2, and berk test pipes just incase lol. problem i ran into was my unemployment ran out i got zero income now, and my buddys garage where i work on my car is being occupied by 4 cars with no motors and its at a slight hill. so pushing 1 out and workin on mine is not an option. but once im able to do it myself or pay to have it done ill def let you guys know.

You should only replace with OEM o2's. And if you are determined a come along or a manual winch will do the trick of getting the cars back up the hill. If you have mods you most likely need a tune. If not it is probably a vacuum leak or exhaust leak.
