my mechanic showed me with a crowbar that I have freeplay in my upper control arm and told me that i should buy a new upper control arm at infinity and bring it in for them to replace it however i just saw this Front Upper Inner Control Arm Bushing Kit part # W52988 from whiteline. would it be a better idea to keep the old control arm and change the bushings?

I have a springy clunky noise im getting from the from the front and believe it may be the strut mount is this possible on our cars? which strut mount would be the best after market to purchase?

I changed all my control arm bushings up front with energy suspension bushings. no problems at all! they have strut mounts on conceptzperformance.com but after that I just switched out my oem struts/ springs with bc coils and haven't had a problem since.

We really need to know specifics here as to what you are driving.

There are big differences between AWD and RWD suspensions, so need to clarify things like year and model type here.

If RWD, there are many options for complete upper control arms. I know a lot of guys like to change bushings, but I prefer to replace the entire part just to save time and hassle. RWD upper control arms (for the front) can be had for about $40 complete.

but RWD upper control arms don't fit in the X's. I had kinetix upper adjustable control arms and it wouldn't fit so I sold them to someone that had a Z

Agreed, but the OP (like many other posters) asked a question without enough info. Due to the differences in models it would help to know what he/she is driving.

Sorry for not being specific and thanks for the link to the site that sells my mounts any difference between kyb and oem strut mounts???

Its a 03 RWD the upper control arm has a bearing that is showing free play with a crow bar up on the lift

Im also really thinking about the whiteline essentials kit since the front end will be worked on , does anyone have over a year with the essentials kit on??? what was the difference in ride quality ?
