Armstrong Compression Rod Bushings Suck
The problem with cutting it out is that you will have nothing to press the new bushing in.

Paid for itself after the first use. Shops charge $150 and up just for compression rod bushing replacement labor.

For the LCA bushings I used a vice and a socket to press them in.
I have always had access to presses; I used to be in engineering at a company that made them along with rotary index tables, and other automated machinery. There is no need for a press IMO.
