Best way to lower car while improving suspension for the money?
What's up guys. So, I've decided that I want to lower my car, for both aesthetic purposes and of course, which is a result of the process, to improve my suspension. Because of my budget I know I don't want coil overs because I'm pretty sure it's cheaper than the other option; replacing either the shocks, springs, or struts, or a combination of them.. That's my question. If I'm lowering my car and improving suspension. What exactly do I need to do? Replace just the springs, the shocks, or the struts? 2 of them, or all three? I'm pretty sure one of those components are on their way out. When ever I go over a small change in elevation, for example, the typical mild slope into the street, my suspension makes a noise.
So yeah, what parts are recommended to upgrade? Also, if I plan on getting 20" wheels at some point, should that affect how low I decide to lower it?
Thanks

I'm in the same situation as you (Except I have a Coupe). If indeed your shocks are the culprit of that noise, adding springs will blow them quick. So if that's the case you have to get new shocks as well. That right there could be around $500, of course it could be cheaper or more expensive depending on what springs and shocks you get also if they are used or new. That's the price some coil overs are going for in the marketplace and Facebook pages. I added various springs and shock costs and just decided to go straight for coil overs the first time. Lowering your vehicle ain't cheap unfortunately.

If you're on a budget you don't get to lower your car. Sorry, bro, your parents lied when they said you can have whatever you want.
If you're doing it your self you're looking at $1k-1500 for a proper non-coilover drop. Doesn't sound like you know much about cars tho, so assuming a shop will be doing it, you'll be looking at $2k if yer savvy, $3k if you give them carte Blanche. Sorry, dude.

If you're going for 20s. You best be dropping your car with coils.
BC coils go for around $1000. The rear camber and toe from SPC are great bang for the buck to realign. Fronts are optional depending on how low you are going. I'm on stock 17s and don't have anything up front. Toe is 0.05 and camber is -2, acceptable in my opinion.
I spent around $1800 for my setup. Which was a used Tein Coil Monoflex($1000) from a friend with SPC rears ($1xx). The install was expensive as **** because I have the EDFC controller as well with my coils which requires some wiring wizardry.

That is normally what a normal alignment consists of. Well any shop will adjust toe but camber/caster by default have very little adjustments to be begin with, unless you have aftermarket parts.

I went with 350z unrevised springs in front and G coupe springs in back. Gave me a little less than 1" all around. Alignment got it back within 1.2 deg of stock camber. I added Hotchkis sway bars and Tokico d-spec adjustable shocks. This thing handels!
Used springs: $100.00
Sway bars: $325.00
Shocks: $660.00
Lifetime alignment: $160.00
