Question regarding lower profile tires...

Hello all,

Just a quick question regarding tires. My car came with the Turanza (which most of you guys said it sucks). Anyway, tires are 215/55/17. Not going to change my tires yet but I am just wondering for you guys who changed it to 225 or 235 with lower profile, does it actually close some of the gaps between the tire and fender? Or would that involve the suspension only? Does 235 push it out the fender a bit? I don't like how the X model has a big gap on the tire/fender. I haven't push the car too much since I just got past 1200 miles. How's hard cornering on the X? I see Maxima's like the 02/03 models, SE models and the wheel/fender gap looks way better than my G. What you think corners better? A 2003 Maxima SE or a 05 g35x?

Thanks...

No close in gap cause you still need to maintain +/- 3% of the original tire size. You just end up changing the number around like 245/40 to 275/30. If you dont you traction control with be flashing like a x-mas tree.

The X car gap is due to its 10mm increase in ride height over the 2wd sedan. I corner HARD everyday, and you should easily outcorner a stock FWD Max vs a RWD-biased G35X. You can also put power down much earlier out of a corner. Steady-state cornering (mag racing) might be similar, but on a track the FWD would fade quickly due to push.
