Bad news. I looked for my invoice when I had the airbag recall done. Couldn't find it. I found my others, but not that particular one. Perhaps I didn't get one?

Here it is. Such a shame. I liked this car. Thought about stripping some of the $$$ parts like the radio, Navigation, wheels and tires, etc. And then just junking the car. Prob get more money. I just don't have the time...hence wanting it gone in one shop.

Problem is dealing with people on CL.

Maybe i'll just LSx swap it.

Looking over the invoices from the original owner of my car, there is a quote for $1742 to fix whatever airbag issue is causing the flashing airbag light. Believe it has to do with the passenger side. Obviously the dealer wasn't going to fix it for free and the owner declined the repair.

I completely understand TSB VS recall, as stated in my OP. I'm not asking for a free meal but it seems to me infiniti dropped the ball on this repair TWICE. I just want to fix my car so i dont have B1129 show up every other week. Plus working airbags is always a GOOD thing.
Have you got the updated fix done to your car? If not then the dealership has to do it for free, because it is now part of the recall campaign. I just re-read the TSB on the updated fix, on the first page it clearly says the original recall has been updated, so if you only got it done under the original campaign, you should be able to get the update done for free. Here's the updated TSB, and it also includes the P/Ns of the parts needed.

The funny thing is, my airbag light was never on before the recall, the original recall actually made it worse in my case. Hope the update TSB fix your airbag issue.

Interesting Thread!!! Thanks for bringing this up.----I have a 2005 sedan and the red airbag light started flashing last week for the first time I've ever seen the light in all 7 years of ownership. Should I call infiniti and request the TSB to be serviced? Will they actually do this on an 11-year old car?

Sorry I dont understand the TSB and warranty stuff. I understand that my car isnt under warranty as it is 10+ years old....

It really all depends on what the issue is. The recall, and TSB address certain aspects of the airbag system.

The light could be on for other reasons. If your passenger seat airbag has a fault, that will set off the light. Neither the recall, or TSB address that. So if you go into the dealer, you are paying labor for the diagnostic, and the repair if you move forward.

The TSB is really more of an informative document if the dealer finds a specific issue. The TSB addresses a fix for this issue. It's just a way of saying "Hey, this is a common problem and here's how to fix it" to save the tech time of troubleshooting.

With the airbag light on, you really don't know what the issue is until you have a diagnostic done.

Waaaaaay back when my car was under warranty, my airbag light came on. Wasn't anything to do with the recall, or the tsb specified here. The clockspring failed, along with a fault with the driver's airbag. Had both replaced under warranty. If I wasn't in warranty, that would have been an expensive dealer repair for sure.
