2003.5 Radiator Fan (I Think) Noise
2003.5 Radiator Fan (I Think) Noise
So, first off, this only happens when the engine is heated up. As I'm sure you all know, when the engine is warmed up and idling, the fan spins full blast. The thing is, when I turn off the engine, the fan usually makes a grinding type of sound as it comes to a stop. I'd like to know if this is normal or if I should have it inspected.
I'll try to post a video in a few hours when I get home.

A/C's don't grind to a stop. When you shut off the engine, the compressor stops instantly. No noise, period.
If something is "grinding" down to a stop, you want to investigate that. If it's the engine cooling fan, it's possible the motor is on it's way out.

I'm fairly certain it only happens on hot days (+80° F) and after the engine has already been running for a while, like after driving.

I hear the noise. No clue what it is though as I've never heard that before. If you notice, your accessory belt is stopped, but the noise continues, so not sure it's anything in the belt setup.
Does it make it if you turned off the A?C first, and then shut it down?

I rarely turn the A/C on. I'm usually driving windows down. The last time I had it on when I shut the engine off was too long ago for me to remember. The fact that it doesn't always make that noise is strange.. I really have no clue what causes it.
