My official goodbye.
Hits me in the feels man...
I am getting my 06x back after a few years without it. My Dad has had it since I bought my 13' Land Rover LR4.
It hurt to get rid of it... and now that I can get it back I am excited and catching up on Driver posts. Sad to read some of the folks I was chatting with years ago are also moving on.
The G's I think have had a faster than normal drop off in terms of ownership and lifespan for a few reasons. The values on these have just cratered.. I suppose like many others, but the other aspect that really hurts is the damage repair costs on the bumpers and some of the common failure parts makes it impractical to keep them. It becomes so easy to 'total' them at a certain point.
Mine has 97k miles on it and will get a deep inspection and maintenance done soon. Its due for its 100k maintenance items and has already had a front wheel bearing changed out.
I plan to restore mine and keep it going as long as is practical. Sad to say the X will be my fuel efficient commute car. (Compared to a 12-15mpg 5.0L V8 Land Rover... yeeeah).

Ended up buying a '14 Taurus Limited and love that car now. I still find myself checking out clean 05-06 sedans though. Always going to have a place in my heart for those cars.
I especially miss the car now that the snow is flying. My G35x was such a tank in the snow. Now I'm driving FWD and hate it.

I will once I find a set of base model 17" wheels. Snow tires are $100+ cheaper than if I try to find them for the OEM 255/45/19 size I have now. Plus I don't want to deal with swapping tires.

Regular A/C? You can also use those windshield covers on hot days.
Sad to see you let the G go, but at least you are hanging around.

It's a different feeling. There's perforations in the seat bottom and lower lumbar area that cooled air blows out of. It's amazing after you've been playing basketball or doing something physical, and then get in and drive. Really interesting feeling as well, especially the first few times you try it out.
