Vdc/slip issue

Hey guys, I'm new here and am really enjoying the site, a lot of knowledgeable people. I own a 2004 g35 5at sedan. I have a problem and was hoping someone could help.

My button to turn vdc on and off does not work, when pressed nothing at all happens. The weird thing is, when I turn my headlights on, the vdc light comes on but does not actually engage/disengage vdc. And when it comes to my slip light, it has a mind of its own, sometime it stayes on sometimes it doesnt and has nothing to do with wheel-spin or loss of traction. I was considering getting a new ecu ( want to do it anyway because the 350z ecu shifts a bit more agressive)
Any help is appreciated! Thanks

Have you checked for any codes? Even if you don't have a SES light you could have stored/pending codes that could narrow down the issue for you.

Yea a code for 02 sensor heating element, and a misfire code that comes and goes. Ill get exact codes when I get home today. Im soon to replace my maf and one 02 sensor. The car buckes when you give it a lot of gas from a stop so I'm hoping replacing those helps that issue as well. Could it be related?
Thanks for the help guys!

I test drove a 6 speed coupe before I bought my car, and it bucked like crazy in 1st gear. Same thing, VDC light was on. They wanted me to put a deposit on the car before they fixed it. Yeah, right. Later.
