2006 G35 Total Loss :(

Hi guys,

I have a 2006 G35 sedan and someone hit me; insurance says it's a total loss.

Anyone know where I can pick up spare headlights? I need a replacement since I have mine retrofitter with quad projectors. I want to put some other ones on before insurance takes the car.

Been trying to find some on craigslist and ebay, but no luck.

Anyone ever had insurance claim a car as a total loss? I need to find a replacement now

Apparently it's considered total loss

Yeah rear quarter requires a **** ton of work to fix. Just buy some $150 eBay specials.

One of those online auto shops (jcwhitney I believe) has OEM (aftermarket) replacement headlights for like $350 or something. Look just like OEM. Of course you can use any shitty eBay lights. Insurance just wants a whole car. I mean you already have custom lights, so it won't matter to them which ones they are. Good luck.

Man those pictures don't look like the car should be totaled. But I need to remember high mileage first gen sedans are rarely worth $5K or so any more.........

You can get some OEM equivalents for about $300. https://www.carid.com/2006-infiniti-...-35746953.html
Used would be better though since you're essentially giving them away.

5 years ago this would have been repaired. It's definitely repairable damage, just a matter on if it's worth it.

Thanks guys! I'll check out some of those links.

Anyone ever dispute the values given by insurance? It's hard to find a similar car and same condition for the price they're giving me.

They go by what cars in similar condition and mileage are going for locally. Dealt with that when my first Maxima got totaled by a drunk driver...damage was significantly worse than yours, estimate was $18k and the adjust fully expected it would be higher once the car was pulled apart so they totaled it. My insurance was offering $900 more than his insurance was, so I took the offer from my insurance minus my deductible and his insurance had to reimburse me for that. His insurance sent me a list of 20 other Maximas for sale locally along with plus/minus amounts based on mileage, condition, etc. I was horrified to see how cheap they were going for.
