It sounds like your headunit is starting to fail as do a ton of them. You can try banging on the sides of the upper part of the center console in line with the radio. Might help a time or 2 but you're going to need to replace the whole headunit including the A/C controls pretty soon if it's the issue.

Can I just get the contillers separately? I mean the temp should be regulated by The controllers not the entire head unit, correct me if I’m wrong?
How much do headunits cost

Nope, the circuit board for the AC is part of the whole headunit assembly. You don't want to buy another OEM HU because it'll be prone to the same failure. Your best bet is to buy a new controller, new DD unit and the faceplate for it. Cruise over to the Audio/Video section and start reading, there's tons of info on it there.

Or you can buy someone's used factory one and be pretty much okay. Don't overthink it blue, the oldest G is 16 years old now, and the youngest one is 11 years.

I hear you but because it's such a pain in the azz to tear the center of the dash apart to replace a headunit I wouldn't put another factory, prone to failure again, unit in our G.

My guess is there are after market kits like pioneer or jdm dash kits. Do they have AC/heater controller built in?

Yeah you have to buy the DDin units and then install your own DDin.

There actually is a sticky for that (what we confused your original question with).

Check your in cabin temp sensor and make sure it's plugged in/working.
Happened in my murano after getting a remote starter installed. They unplugged it and I had the exact same symptoms. It goes into fail safe mode, full ac or full heat.

I was going to say the same thing. There should be a ambient temp sensor in the cabin. I would check that first.

It's got little slots in it, right below where the key goes into the ignition.

I have the same issue and is not the cabin sensor. Any other alternative to solve the issue?
Thanks
