Tranny dipstick missing

2003 G35 Sedan - just a cap with no dipstick. I've serached and people recommend 31086-CD100. Nissan and Inifiniti sites call it a "CAP - CHARGING PIPE" and some diagrams show that part number "31086" or "31086M" with just the CAP.....and some show the same diagram and same part number with the CAP and DIPSTICK attached.

Before I order one....can someone who has bought one clarify it will come with or without a dipstick. Hate to spend $20 and just get the cap I already have. I want the dipstick.

I also see its been superseded by 31086-CD-10A. Not sure if thats different or ?

Thanks

My 04' and 05' looked like just a cap. When I pulled the 10mm bolt and pulled the cap it had a stick attached to it on both cars. I have heard that some cars are missing the stick which is really weird. I bet if you checked a Upull yard or PicknPull you would find one cheap. The diagrams I pulled on both part #'s you have only show the cap.

The dip stick from a 350Z can replace the cap.

That is your transmission dipstick, nothing is wrong with it and you don't need to buy another one. The owners manual describes how to use it.

Edit: oops misread, your dipstick probably broke off and is lodged down in the pipe. Drop the tranny pan and visually look, good time for a drain and fill if you haven't don't one in the last 30k miles.

Confirmed that this part number was good for the dipstick. Not just a cap

If your tranny's dip stick is missing, she had the surgery already....
