2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe; any suggestions (Positive) on the interval of oil changes for a harsh city environment? My Parents gave me a pristine 2005 Infiniti G35, 6 speed with 33,500 miles. I'm changing the oil every 3500 miles but would like to keep the car running in top shape! Thanks!

I use full synthetic oil in my car. Its my everyday driver around LA traffic. I usually drive normally but have little bursts of aggresivenes here n there. Im assuming u have the same kinda driving habits as I do.

I usually change out full synthetic oil every 10K miles on other cars. But since the G35 likes to burn oil, I add about a quart of oil every 4K miles and that freshens up the oil a bit. So I let my oil change go til about 15K miles.

Thanks ScorpiO for this information! This is exactly what I was looking for. This is my get to and from work car here in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia); The traffic here is wretched but at least you have freeways in Los Angeles (yes, I know the 405 Parking lot =) The DMV is terrible because of the left lane slow drivers and wretched pot holed roads!
I will change to full synthetic oil because the car does seem to burn a quart of oil between changes. I only get to open my car up on the back roads but must watch out for deer along the way!

Thanks Again!!!

Use a really good filter like the Wix XP. If you look at the breakdown of the filter material and how much better filtration there is you will understand how it is a very good idea to spend the extra $$$ on it. For oil I use Mobile 1 full synthetic and change @ 6k miles.

7500 miles between synthetic oil changes (lots of stop and go traffic here) and use OEM oil filters.

Use the Wix51356 oil filter. I run Mobil 1 10/30. Change every 6k.
