Sedan owners, can we get a suspension guide together
Sedan owners, can we get a suspension guide together
For example, I think that a lot of links/pics are outdated on this side of the site (the sedan side). Do you all think we can put together a sedan-only drop guide, such as a pic of your car then the info, i.e.
1) Pictures
2) Info about the car (year/model)
3) What type of suspension
4) What size wheels/tires
5) MOST IMPORTANT: YOUR FEEL (is it stiff for daily driving/great for track/crappy for track) etc....
I've been searching thru old posts, and am now even more confused with what type of setup I want for my sedan, so measurements from stock help even more, but pictures and info would, I think, make a difference for some of us new sedan owners? Let me know your thoughts?

1) g35.ca is down, the pics are on there
2) 2003 Premium
3) 350Z Track
4) F: 225/45 R18 R: 245/45 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport
5) i think it feels fine for daily driving, alittle stiff on pot holes, but not much of a big deal, still alot softer then coilovers. track performance is awesome, much less roll compare to the stock G35, holds the road much better. at the same speed attacking the same corner, mine was only at about 70% potential and much more room for improvment, while the stock G35 is using 100% and was at its limit.
edit: i think the car is still too tall.... need to lower it more.....

I have G coupe front springs only. I installed these last week and hope to have some pics later this week. The drop it's exactly what I hoped for. 0.60" drop in the front for a total gap of 1.9". This evens out the front end to closely match the stock rear 1.6" rear gap. With me in the car (185lbs), the gaps drop to 1.4"F/1.3" rear or what many ricers rather to as just under a 2 finger gap. The ride quality is the same and possibly better due to the slightly lower front spring rate (10lbs less) of the coupe though it's all in my head most likely. I have the Sport suspension which means the struts are more than up to the task of handling the new springs.
I know, many will ask "why" so much work for so little gain. I choose not to go with the springs in the rear because I wanted a more even ride and I didn't go with the 350Z springs because I wanted to maintain the best ride quality while getting a slight drop. I've had multiple spring set ups on my 96 Maxima and once you go over 1", the ride quality seems to diminish greatly plus you loose over 1" of wheel travel. I've ridden in a sedan with 350Z springs/shocks and it was a bit too bouncy for me plus the camber becomes an issue. I don't want to spend $380-800 for adjustable A-arms and camber bolts.
I plan on the Aero bumper in the near future which will visually lower the front end another 1.2".

The ride is stiffer than the stock sports suspension, but nothing annoying to me. I don't have a straight on side view, but here is a picture none the less...

Just curious here, is it possible to lower an X? I like the car the way it is, but a little lower stance will look alot better. I was thinking Tein Htechs. Anyone use them and is the ride the same as stock? Also, if I replace springs, I am doing shocks. The car is new but IMO changing to more agresive springs without going with better shocks is silly. What shocks are you guys using with you lowered Gs?

Thinking about the Htechs as well but I do not want to lose ONE BIT of ride comfort and havent found/got a straight answer out of anyone yet...or a ride with them on the car
