G35 sedan
Helppp

Hey guys, I’m a new member but have been reading up on here for really anything that’s wrong with my g35 but I haven’t seen anything as far as questions or answers pertaining to my issue so I thought I would ask. I have a 2004 Infiniti g35 sedan and I decided it’s time to replace the big beam/fog lights because my fog lights have never worked. When I switch to my fog lights my car basically feels like it stalls out and drops in rpm then rises back up in rpm but my VDC, Slip off and check engine light all pop on. The other night I was headed home and flashed my brights and my car did the same thing except I lost acceleration for about a minute and it wouldn’t let me go over 40 mph and that’s with the pedal to the floor. I’ve read and I’m thinking it’s the throttle body from all the isssues everyone else is having but I guess I’m just curious to see if it has something to do with my headlights? I use to be able to flash my brights without any issues until I started messing with my fog light switch. Any suggestions would help, I’m just trying to get an idea without having to take it to a dealer and pay $300 for diagnostic and stuff. Thanks in advance!

Kinda weird that your fog light switch is causing your engine to lose power as they are 2 independent systems.

The only thing I can think of is that u either have a massive short somewhere, or your alternator is going bad and barely putting out enough power to run the car.

The car runs fine other than when I start toggling the fog lights. When I ran the check engine code it gave me a P2135 which is the throttle/pedal position sensor but I don’t understand how that code would pull only when I toggle fog lights? Low beams work just fine and haven’t had that issue.

Sounds like an odd problem. But first thing first, search YouTube for “G35 throttle idle reset procedure”
