g35x cranks but will not start p1610/p1614
Hello,
I have a 06 infinity g35x sedan, It hasn't been maintained properly and one of the problems was corrosion on the battery terminals. It was so bad that I had to replace the positive pole clam because when I took it off it broke and wasn't making good contact. When I replaced the positive clamp pole everything was working fine. the other day I decided to clean the ground, disconnected it, cleaned it, sprayed some protectant on it, and reinstalled it. The car now does not start.
I replaced the battery, it did nothing.
When I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump priming.
when I twist the ignition without the key, the key light on the cluster pops up green and then goes off. But when I try to start it, it will crank and on the gauge cluster the key light in red pops up.
when I try to insert the key to turn the ignition, which for some reason if very difficult to insert and get it to turn, the same thing happens.
I replaced the battery on the key fob and it is sending a signal but it won't unlock or lock the car.
I had my cousin sit in the car and try to turn the car will I walked away with the fob and key and it would not crank, the key light on the cluster was steady red.
I called two different key programmers, one cut a second key but couldn't program it because he couldn't figure out how to get the ignition to turn with the key on.... the second person came tested the remote said it is sending signal, was able to turn the key on the ignition, but did not program a new key. he called a friend who hooked up a computer and said that when he tried to look up the bcm for the codes to reset or do a new key it would only show 1 and it was just letters, usually it should be 2 codes with a mix of letters and numbers. Said he couldn't do anything, that it's not the key and left.
I checked to see if any fuses were blown inside the driverside, and in the battery compartment and the only one blown was for the cigarette lighter, which explained why it wasn't working before this happened.
I removed a spark plug to check for spark and there was none, also found out the car needs new spark plugs and valve cover gasket because there was a ton of oil on the 2nd and 3rd plug from the driver side. I replaced the old spark plug on the first cylinder with a new ngk one and tried to start it and there was no spark.
I tried hooking up a scanner to the car but no codes are present, and there is no check engine light.
I went to the junkyard and grab a replacement negative ground cable and complete positive clamp with the fuse block in great condition, no corrosion, craked clamp, burnt fuses. replaced both of them and it did nothing.
I hooked up the code reader to the car despite no CEL and it read the following codes p1610 and p1614.
I'm not sure what else to do, the car is currently sitting on the street at my cousin's house. please help.
