Lime removal

Aargh.. go figure, 3 weeks after buying my beautiful white g35, which I love, i had some lime fall from the ceiling of my condo garage to the top of my car. Any idea how to get rid of Lime and is it possible to do without harming the paint?

If you haven't washed it off yet, do it NOW.
The lime will etch the paint.

I had a similar experience lime dripped onto car all weekend
before i found it.
I ended up repainting.

Have you tried any of the lime removal products? CLR? Lime Away? I don't know what this will do to your paint though.

Maybe try cleaning a very small spot first and see if it affects the paint?

Recommend you don't start off with the strong products like CLR, LimeAway. Instead, try plain white vinegar. Use it liberally and let it soak on top. Apply light pressure, but only if the surface is otherwise clean and use plenty of liquid (vinegar). Repeat. If this still doesn't work, then try the other products. You may also consider using a mild wax/cleaner product.

Lime ceiling? Or is it plaster, drywall? If water created the lime slime, water (can easily) wash it off. Any pigeons in your garage?

I second the white vinegar (with caution of course). We have very hard water in the reservoirs around here and I used to get quite a bit of hard water spotting on my boat. I started mixing white vinegar in my soapy water when I washed the boat. Worked great! It took the hard water spots right off. But that was gelcoated fiberglass. So I don't know how it would behave on your paint.

It's probably concrete leaching, aka efflorescence, which contains limestone. I've also had this problem happen to me in my work garage. I'll NEVER park in a certain spot again.
