2005 G35X- vibration on highway
I just got the car over the weekend, and my dealer is working with me to correct the problem. But I just wanted to see if this is common, or something others with the G35 or G35X has experienced?
A slight shimmy, apparent thru the steering wheel and gas pedal at 50-70 mph....
Anyone get vibes like that?
Thanks in advance....

My 04 G35x has no vibration or shimmy at usual speeds. Most likely, I would guess, is an imbalanced tire-possibly a weight fell off. Less likely is a defective tire. I imagine a true steering system problem is very unlikely right off the lot. Tell us what happens.
Enjoy the car! (my DG is old- 10/04)

Thanks guys. I'm going to get it in about an hour, I'll keep you posted as to what's what. They re-balanced them, check the weights, and visually inspected the tires, and found no problems. They swapped my wheels/tires with another new set from a car right off the truck, and they said that seems to have fixed it.
I'll test drive it in a little bit when I get out there, and check it out...
Thanks everyone!

Stan---Like the others said Hang in There . It sounds like the Dealer is working with you, just make sure you get what you want, even if you have to wait. I took my winters off yesterday and put the stock rims and rubber back on and no problem. Hope you get this resolved soon, once you do you will love the ride.

I'm in hell!! The tires were all set at 35-36 psi. I lowered them to the OEM specs of 30. Took it out. It was a tad better, but still pretty bad. There's something wrong with my car.
Now the dealer is trying to rape me. They offered me a new G35x, but at $50 a month more than my current rate for the depreciation on my 4 day old car with 175 miles (30 of which I put on, the rest was there test driving it, etc...).
They won't give me my trade back and call it even. I'm in hell!

Holman Infiniti in Maple Shade, NJ. I spoke extensively and even test rode with the Service Mgr. They are incompetent.
It's likely something with the driveshaft or tranny, which is gonna be a major overhaul for a brand new car. And frankly, I don't trust them after the 3 times they have had it so far.
If they do that kind of work on a new car, it'll never be right for as long as I own it...
I'm screwed... they want $4500 for me to walk away from the car... after they got $3500 of my money on Saturday... That's $8K to walk away with no car...
I'm gonna have to sue, pursue the lemon laws, etc... neat....

Sorry you are still having a tough time. I don't know that dealer. I've used Douglas in
Summit (not far from home and work) for 3 Infinitis over about 12 years and had good experiences.
Do they still agree that it shakes?
If so, they must fix it under the warranty (unless they blame you for damaging it somehow) and not make you buy or lease a new car. If they don't help, contact Infiniti (see the procedure in your warranty booklet or at the website).
