Best way to Launch a 5AT Sedan.

I don't drive an auto but here's my thoughts. We'll see if others with autos agree.

VDC off
with foot on brake rev to about 1000 to eliminate driveline slack
mash throttle or modulate based on tire temps and road surface friction

This same topic was posted before, can't remember where. Do a search and you'll find all the info you need.

Hold brake, advance throttle quickly to 2000 RPM, release brake and hang on.

The search key would have rendered these results more quickly than waiting on responses.

I took my G to the track for the first time this week and this is what I found worked best. VDC off, foot on brake, foot on gas to bring the rpms up to 800-900rpms to remove drivetrain slack, and when it's time to go, mash the gas to the floor, and almost instantly release the brakes. This resulted in low 2.2 60 foots. Mashing the gas without holding down the brake much resulted in a much slower 2.34 60 foot. My G barely chirped a tire on launch either. I think in cooler weather, mid 2.1 60 foots on the EL42 are attainable.

Great info with track times to back it up.

I pulled 2.20-2.24's out of a loaner sedan by brake-torquing it to just over 2k rpm, then side-stepping the brake while flooring the gas.

My "X" car cuts 2.1's all day on EL42's, but the AWD helps a wee bit.
