so i think im going to buy a 03 g35

its a 03 g3 white/black leather 33k times on it for $22500 out the door, it has 1 little dent over the wheel on the fender and 2 scratches on the body, its in very good condition for 33k miles i would say, it drives nice, new tires, but it doesnt have the premium package i dont think, because theres no power passanger seat, memory seat, and the rear reclining,or the spoiler, so what do you guys think is it worth the price????

heres a pic

what do the maintenance records look like?

A week ago I found a similar car and checked with the service advisor at my local Infiniti dealership and found out it had come in at 17k miles blowing blue smoke and three quarts of oil down. Seems the owner thought one of his employees was getting it serviced for him....

Is that an Infiniti dealer? Have you had an independant inspeftion done? Carfax or Autocheck?

I have just spent 2 months dealing with a wreck that I was sold - and I was careful.

This morning I bought an 03.5 with the premium pack, 24k miles and in great shape for $23400 plus sales tax.

btw, you don't have premium but you DO have sport.

Don't trust Carfax. It's a good indicator and will catch maybe 60% of major accidents. But if the title wasn't changed, Carfax misses a lot.

The car I bought had a clean Carfax and I found out it had $16,000 worth of work including straightening of the frame and some welds. Not good.

Since the car was not totaled, the title didn't change and the insurance company didn't report to Carfax.

Get it checked out by an independant inspector. Look in the phone book. It's the best $150 you will spend. Seriously.

Stiffer suspension, 5 spoke wheels, titatium colored center console. Your picture has the wheels.

The fact that it is not at an Infiniti dealer, has an existing dent and shows signs of some paint also would make me extra careful.

It may be a great car and a great deal, but MAKE SURE!

First, why is it at the Toyota dealership? (is this the one at suburban toyota?) Was it traded in? Was it bought at auction? If auction, that is a minor yellow flag. If it was a high quality lease return through Infiniti Financial, it would be on an Infiniti lot. If it was leased by a 3rd party leasing company it might not be on an Infiniti lot. If it was damaged or not well maintained, the Infiniti dealer where it was turned in (who has the first right to it and takes good ones because they sell fast) would have sent it to auction. This just means you need to find it's maintenance history at the dealer and have it inspected.

Also, it shows signs of some paint work. On the bumper is no big deal. But you must double check every other panel on the car for paint. Bumpers get scratched and painted all the time so this is not a horrible thing. But sometimes it is an indicator that other work has been done. Again, have it inspected.

I'm just trying to look out for you bro.

Homie.

oh i definitely appreciate the feedback, cause it is a bid decision for me. so with that THANK YOU.
the guy said it was bought at an auction, but yeh im definitely going to take it to infiniti for an inspection.
No its just the back bumper thats mismatched and like i said, i know it wasnt in an accident because the whole bumper wouldve been mismatched, and its only one side of it, so im sure it was just a scratch.
The car has 2 scratches on the whole body, and for 33k miles i dont think thats too bad.
Any other feed back is appreciated.

Thanks again

No, 2 scratches isn't bad at all.

Infiniti here does a good 149 or something point inspection for mechanical. I'm not sure how they are at finding accident repairs however.

And don't forget to sit with the service advisor and go through the service history based on the VIN.

Good luck!!! I love the IP!!

Especially since I already have 2 scratches on my 2004, and I've tried to take good care of it (one was my fault, wind through my open garage door knocked over a stupidly placed object )

Plus the chip in the windshield.

When I bought mine, there wasn't much choice in used cars, especially with Navi. And they wanted such a premium that I bought new for only $3K more than they were asking. I didn't try to bargain since the color wasn't my favorite anyway.
