Getting MP3 titles to display in stereo
Getting MP3 titles to display in stereo
I don't have the bose stereo but when I burned MP3 on cds the only thing that displays is TRACK 04 etc.
I tried pushing the disp button but nothing. Do I have to burn them in 8.3 format?
Any ideas?

I haven't gotten my G35 yet (pick it up tomorrrow) but from what I have read on this forum, it is not possible without pressing the Display button multiple times
. I know that this is going to annoy me, since the display area on the stock head units is so small. I guess eventually I will put an aftermarket head unit in.

Wait, you can actually get it to display the folder titles??? Can you get the song name to appear as well? I tried when I first got the car and couldn't get it to display anything other then the CD# and Folder#.
Here is what I found out.
1. You have to press the DISP button for about 1.5 seconds in order for it to go from Folder, Track #, Artist, Song Title, etc. Once it is on the "artist" or "song title" you should see the info displayed, but it will not scroll, but only show about the first 8 or so characters.
2. You have to make sure you songs have the ID3 tag info inbedded in the actual mp3. You can google for "ID3-Tagit" software, it is free.
3. Once you have the directory selected for all your mp3 on your pc, you can view or modify the ID3 tag, so the display of the head unit will show it.
4. If you download or rip your own MP3s, the software may or may not automatically put the ID3 tag into the mp3. That is why it may or may not show up on the display.
Hope this helps
PS, I will try just tapping the disp button to see if it scrolls through the song title or not.
