JWQ46, easier said then done... They will not just accept your return, they will try to fix it first
kbmuddyz, mine also is Garnet fire with the sports package, premium package, aero package and mud guards... It is horrible once I go up to 75 mph, the seat goes crazy jumping and you feel it on the steering wheel and on the auto tranny shifter... Will keep you posted, car scheduled to go back in this Saturday to be driven with the mechanic and service manager... Thanks again

One thing I just remembered about my parents car is that the tires are not the stock tires. They were some aftermarket ones that my dad had put on there. They worked a deal with the dealer to put the rims/tires of my parents '03 G (lease) on the new one they just bought. So I don't see how tires are the problem.

Interesting how we have 2 05 Garnet cars with the same vibration issue. I think they only make like 2 out of 100 that color...

Your dealer's inability to diagnose the problem is a typical example of most tech at most dealers today, regardless of the make and prices of the cars. These modern day tech only know how to replace parts but don't know how to diagnose the problems. They are not mechnics. They parts replacers. However, when the problem get more complicated such as yours, it is obvious your problem is beyond the dealer's capability or you would'nt be frustrated with your new car I would call the general manager to get his attention to your problem!

You are very right King of the Road. To diagnose a problem many of these techs are clueless. Are you saying to contact the GM of the dealer before or after this upcoming attempt?

I would feel the vibration on the steering wheel and when looking at the passenger seat, it was just a massage seat, vibrating all over the place. I picked up the car same thing, still vibration. This time they rebalanced all tires, checked the wheels and tires and all is OK according to the dealer. Guess what vibration is still there, not so much on the steering wheel but definately on the passenger seat around 70 mph, it just goes crazy. I called the dealer to retake the car but before I do, I want to know if anyone else has had this problem. Any help or info apprecaited. Thanks
Not sure if they've rectified your problem yet, but trying another set of tires on your car that are known to be good and balanced would quickly tell you if it's tires or not.
Another more unlikely source of vibration is an out of balance driveshaft.
Post back with results. I'd like to know what happened.

When I bought my X (Sept 04), the salesman and I drove 8 different G 35`s to get a set of the EL 42 tires which had no vibrations. They swapped the wheels & tires off of that car (RWD) on to my X. Then I signed the papers. I don`t know if they would have been so cooperative if I had already taken possession, but I would like to think so!

At first, I was successfull in getting all TOP surfaces repainted. Everything was great for a while until right before my warranty runs out and the rest of the car (which they declined to repaint the first time) started to "check". I was NOT successful in getting them to take care of it this time, although the new "checking" was discovered and reported before the warranty ended. To say the least, they were slow in the process and when they finally decided to "talk" about it, the warranty had expired. I sold the Explorer and came out fine (above Blue Book) despite the paint issues since I kept the Black paint spectacular looking (had to be right up on it to see the "checking"). None-the-less, I will NEVER own another Ford vehicle again. It's not that I think they produce a poor product, but there lack of care for their customers ruined everything. I know every auto manufacturer is prolly like this. The fact of the business is that no-one stands behind their products when it's gonna cost them that much money to make someone happy.

So far, I'm happy with my G and hopefully it stays that way. G35Sedanman, sorry to hear about your customer no-service you experienced with Infiniti. I know how much it SUCKS to spend that much on a car and be treated like that by the maker.

Good Luck with your new ride!
Thanks 05GSedan, I appreciate your sympathy and good wishes. Infiniti "consumer we don't care services" really made me feel that they just did not care. They have to many satisfied customers and thankfully, not as many unhappy ones. So, it is cheaper for them to pass the buck to the dealer. It was a miserable experience and a lousy 9 months of driving the I35 with that front end vibration. The G experience was good save for a few rattles that they were still working on. However, after corporate was so uncaring, I no longer wanted to be involved with their product. I hope you enjoy your car and will be problem free.

Ok...I'm not sure if this is it or not, but I'll tell you what worked for me. Check the front air damn on your car. On it, there might be a thick piece of clear plastic. Peel it off. This is from shipping and should have been removed by your dealer, but most of them miss it.

I had an 03, and for a good 6 months, I was back and forth to the dealer, tire places, balancing, rebalancing, etc...Some things seemed to work a little, but I still had a persistent vibration between 50-70. Above 70 it went away, below 50 it went away, but between those speeds, it was noticable. It didn't cause the seat to vibrate but it did cause the steering wheel to vibrate, as well as the pedals. Once I peeled off the tape, which had become a little loose and was vibrating at speed, it all went away 100%.

Update

WEll finally took the car in to the dealership yesterday and drove it with the main mechanic. The guy felt it even below speeds that I didn't, around 45mph. What a relief since everyone thought it was all in my head. Very discomfort when you know something is there and no one else feels it. LOL
AS for the resolution, the tech said he might try a different brand of tires instead of the Goodyears. One thing I did see in the showroom, that all display models no longer had the GoodYear on the 18 inch rims but Bridgestones. Hmmm are they changining now for all newer models then mine? We shall see. Oh these were on the chrome 18 inch, which mine are not chrome. WIll keep you all posted. As for the sticker up front, did not notice it before taking it to the dealership but will look again once I receive it. Thanks to all

I personally have an 03 G35 Sedan; however, one of my co-workers bought an 05 G35 sedan 2 months ago and is having the same problem... from day one his car would vibrate in a very noticeable way. He's taken the car back to the dealership 3 times and the problem keeps on happening. The dealership has alligned the car, they've replaced the tires with a brand new set of tires and according to my co-worker the car still vibrating.
Now I have no complaints about mine and i have not noticed any alignment problems what so ever (but then again mine is an 03)

Good luck with the tires hgjilr, my folks have aftermarket tires on theirs and they also have this issue. I need to check back with them and see if they have any updates.
