So after 5-weeks with my G I’m sitting in the car waiting for a friend, and am killing time by thumbing through the Quick Reference Guide (QRG) … again … when I noticed something “strange”.

On page 6 where it shows the dash controls (and there is even a small picture of these at the bottom of the page) it lists the following items in this order on the dash …

#5 = Instrument Panel Brightness Control
#6 = Trunk Release Switch
#7 = VDC “Off” Button

But when looking at my dash, it doesn’t match the above order. This is what I have (looking left-to-right) …

Trunk Release
VDC “Off Button
Instrument Panel Brightness Control

So … is it my G that’s different? Or perhaps the QRG is just in error???

 

the book is wrong because my G is the same as Yours is. DOnt worry, i hope.

 

Yep, I noticed the same thing when reading my handbook too.

As long as turning off VDC doesnt pop the trunk, I'll overlook the book goof

 

Maybe they have changed the orientation but my 03.5 is set up just like the quick reference manual states.

 

my 03.5 is set up as the guide says too. probably an 04+ thing...

 

My 04 is set up as the qrg says. Maybe they changed the o5`s.

 

LOL! Exactly. Or you adjust your instrument brightness and the car goes into a slide because you've turned off VDC.

 

My 2003.5 is same as guide. Wish the dimmer switch was elsewhere as I keep dimming the light in error almost everytime I open my trunk

 

They changed it for '05. just got a loaner today and it's different from my 03.5
