Installed aluminum pedals. Stopper on the gas pedal?
I've done a search and can't find anything about this. I installed my aluminum pedals yesterday and noticed that the stock plastic gas pedal has a 1" travel stopper on the back. The replacement aluminum does not have this. I thought this was kind of odd. While scrolling through infiniti-parts.com I noticed they sell the aluminum pedal kit, but they specifically say that the G35 sedal kit DOES NOT include the gas pedal, though the coupe pedal kit does include the gas pedal. It only includes the foot rest and brake pedal. I was thinking it maybe had something to do with the shape of the floor board in the sedan, but the coupes floor board has the same exact shape and I wouldn't be surprised if the Z/FX is the same too. Looking at the DIY pedal install (on a coupe), the picture clearly shows the coupe plastic pedal with the stopper mounted to the bar that the peadl attaches to:

This must be why Courtesy Nissan only sells the whole gas pedal assembly and not just the pedal for the G sedan.
By taking measurements, the aluminum gas pedal goes a crack over a 1/4" further down than the plastic gas pedal with the stopper. The shape and position of the aluminum pedal is such that it it really doesn't go 1" further than the plastic pedal.
Gas pedal stoppers on older cars typically were used to reduce stretching of the throttle body cable at WOT. Since our cars are drive-by-wire, this doesn't apply. Why would the G sedan has different pedal set-up than all the other FM cars? I guess I'm going to have to devise some sort of stopper (easy to do) because the stopper is clearly there for a reason.

Everything G35 lists same kit sedan or coupe.
"Factory Aluminum Pedal Kit (Sedan/Coupe)

This is the real deal! Factory aluminum pedal kit includes all pieces needed to convert your standard pedals over to the drilled aluminum pedals (dead pedal, e-brake pedal, clip, & bushings are all included)! The e-brake pedal does need to be adhered to the pedal itself, adhesive is not included. A 3M clear adhesive is recommended. ***Price on the 6MT pedal kit reduced!!! All kits are currently in stock.***"
I had no such issues with mine.
Just the pedal changes... not the rod with the stop.

The OEM aluminum pedal kit comes with the gas pedal and stopper.
Look in your box/package. It's sealed separately in its own plastic. I originally thought the stopper was missing too. Good thing I didn't throw away the package.

I installed alumunium pedals and notice that the gas pedal does not fit tightly as the rest -- when i tap on the top of the gas pedal there is some kind of tapping noise -- is it because its missing a stopper or what

Here's what my 03's pedal looks like this:

I remeasured pedal travel and the additional travel the alumninum pedal has over my stock plastic pedal is ~3/16". I'm not going to worry about anything. The car was feeling pretty dang quick at WOT today even though it was muggy and warm

I got my pedals on in about 10 minutes. The trick to getting the brake pedal on is using small flathead screw and prying the rubber around base metal pedal. Use a larger flathead screw driver to pop the clip off the plastic gas pedal.
