did anynone seriously consider a Chrysler 300C when car shopping?

i have honestly gone back and forth on so many cars. i fall in love with them for a time period and then look for alternatives to my decisions. they include:

G35
Acura TL
GS300--didnt want to pay that much
M35/45--dont want to pay that much
CTS-V--cant pay that much even with my GM discount
300C/SRT-8

i have had a love affair with all of these cars. test driven, obsessed over colors, joined owners forums, re-test driven (scared dealers)....you name it, i have done it. i am currently on a G35 kick! i honestly could/would be happy in any of these. all have lots of positives and few negatives, while all still being very different negatives. afterall, there is no perfect car. i have so many reviews from owners and professionals i feel i know more then the manufacturers. i most certainly know more then most dealers regarding these cars.

anyway, i keep coming back to the 300c. i really cant afford a SRT-8 with 14 mpg and me driving 70 miles roundtrip on a daily basis. i have been in love with the design since i saw it. fully loaded it comes with just about everything you could want besides "reliability."...that si what concerns me....that is its negative, for me. plenty of room, luxuires and speed. it doesnt handle like a G35, but it is a way bigger car. anyone else consider it?

SRT-8 - Love it. 173mph top end. Lust after it.
Been told by a couple of different mechanics that the front end might as well been made out of gum wrapper foil it is so light weight. My wheel and tire guy swears there are issues in the offing.
Big difference for me in my decision is that although the g35x and a 300c are about the same price in Canada at the end of the 3 year lease the G has a residual about 5k richer (Chrysler knows their car ain't worth **** about 20 minutes from now) which combined with 3.9% they offered vs. Chryslers 5.9 made the G waaaaaaaaay cheaper plus it is AWD.

Add to that the fact that every shrub who used to drive an Escalade is now cruising a 300C trying to rhyme baller with "I'm a real Cristaler".........

Say........... didn't I see you going into the stands at an NBA game? No, I didn't think so - wannabe!

It had to be the G!

oh i most certainly agree that this car has turned into a rap video on wheels, but around here, Nashvegas, TN...we dont have too many floating 'round on 22's and iced out.

to be honest, i have seen more 50+ driving this around then i have 25-30 year olds with the bling. this is kind of what sparked this discussion. i had my G35 blinders on as of late and i saw a black C with tinted windows at lunch , with a very attractive young lady driving it....my breath was taken.......about the car though. it looked so good. and as mentioned above, i am a member of 300cforums.com and i aint gonna lie, i would love to put a classy 22'' wheel on it if i owned one. several have, that arent thugged out, and the wheel well screams for it--it looks so good. actually i would loooove to have the STR-8 20'' wheels. i havent seen a stock wheel on any car that looks better on a car. it fits it so perfect.

Yes I love the 300C SRT-8, and was tempted, but I love Infiniti now and am used to the quality and total level of performance these rides provide.

There is definitely an allure to all that hp and tq tho. HEMI

I don't know how the SRT-8 prices out in the States but up here it's great value. By the time you put some tasty rims on a 300C it's about 48k Can. and the SRT-8 which comes with 20's is 50k. That extra 2k is buying a lot of juice.

You cannot deny the performance is impressive. Styling is subjective and if you like it, more power to ya. Historically Chrysler's reputation for dependability has been cr@p. Consider that a car that puts out that amount of horsepower and is that heavy will need a fair share of preventative maintenance also.

Looked at one - here in Corpus they wanted $5K over MSRP. I ran from the lot.

Drove a Magnum too - just for kicks. Big and fast party wagon.

Sure I did, and when I build my ten car garage I will buy one. I think it's a major leap for American performance sedans. Even if it is a German chasis & transmission.

It looks cool. It is reminiscent of gangster cars from the 20s. I drove one because I liked the looks so much but I did not like driving it. It felt like my dad's cars from the 70s with a lot more power. I found the handling marshmallow-like. TERRIBLE visibility. Worse than the coupe. This to me is not a car for anyone who likes to drive a sports car. Anything further from the 6MT I can't imagine. I am not trying to insult your taste if you like it, but it is just apples and oranges.

Did you drive the C model? It's not a direct comparison to the G. It's more of a "what's available in the sedan performance class". I don't think anyone compared it to a manual G. An enthusiast will have appeciation for the 300C even if he doesn't want to own one.

the 300C and SRT-8 are bad A*S..they probably arent as reliable as hondas and toyotas but they are reliable enough for me to go out there and buy one...i heard mercedes has joined forces with chrysler..and i heard that the 300C's use a lot of mercedes parts like the suspension...i would go with the 300C if i were u = )

I thought that was what the original poster was comparing. I guess I am just not an enthusiast like you. I think the car (the 300C) that I drove is overhyped, but that is just my opinion as I stated before.
