Good luck with your problems.

It's ironic to me that the other car in your garage is an Audi A6. I had an A4 Quattro and would never buy an Audi again. Electrical and alarm troubles required weeks at the dealer, some of them never fixed (2 weeks for an alarm problem-unfixed). Their loaners were not Audis, but poor-condition rentals (on one I had to use a knife to open the rear door lock several times a day for two weeks) (although I realize I was fortunate to get a loaner). I was happy to buy my Infiniti I30 and the Infiniti dealer took care of the last 3 months of the Audi lease.

Can you ever say anything nice? LOL! Since they are both basically the same car, you just called your coupe $hit!

With an Audi and an Infiniti in the garage, count yourself as lucky man even with your unhappiness with the G. The situation could be so much worse. I'll bet in a crowd of 100 people I could nab at least 60 who'd be thrilled to inhereit your, ah, "heap."
I agree - if I didn’t like my G the way I've heard a couple of others complain I'd sell the thing and buy something else! You're right, most G owners can probably bite the bullet and take a few grand loss. I paid mine off a few months ago and would never consider keeping it and be miserable over selling it (even at a small loss, although it wouldn’t be) and get myself into something I like.

I think some people are just born complainers and like having things in there life that they can be disgruntled about. I wonder what the other aspects of life quality are like?

The coupes are slower, heavier, less utilitarian, and aren't nearly as attractive (lookit that big 'ole butt).

Other than that, they're great.

(j/k - go easy...)

You hit the nail on the head. I would add that the middle section looks to stretched for only one door. Now if the coupe was built on the Z wheelbase, it would look much hotter.

Absolutely love the car. I'm finding little things here and there I dislike or would hope was a little different (some of which were added/revised for '05) but overall I LOVE this car. Best car I've ever owned, and at 23 years old, I'm content...

Just curious... what about the '05 do you prefer? I drove a loaner and found two things I liked better to the extent that I'm looking for a way to get 'em:

1) Door-side arm rests: cushy padded leather – mmmm love ‘em – talking to upholsterer’s to find a similar effect. Dealer doesn’t offer without entire door panel ($1100 a pop!).

2) Under hood lip rubber gasket (would be a HUGE help keeping water spots from forming on grill - especially after I paint w/ graphics).

3) Telescoping steering wheel

Wasn’t impressed with much else – in fact, everything else I liked better on my car.

I'm not sure what age has to do with it though; I'm 104 and getting younger! But I’d appreciate your observation in a response. Thanks whippersnapper!

The telescoping wheel is nice, especially when it's powered, along with the tilt & memory, and yes, the new armrests are really nice as well, lot's of things about the '05 are nicer!

The more I think about it, I'm not all that concerned about the steering wheel telescoping (it’s just a frill worth mentioning)... After all, I never move it up/down and wouldn’t in/out. One of the reasons I bought this car is because it fit me well! I test drove 1/2 dozen serious contenders - all had their specific benefits... when I got in this car, it felt like I've been driving it for several years. It just felt right.

Perfection is human nature, so now when I refine my ideal I have slight alterations (thanks to this forum it’s about unleashing potential power). But as far as my model year vs current year - the armrest are all that I envy.

So anyway, you left it with "lot's of things about '05 are nicer?" - kinda empty thoughts there... Can you point something out I may have missed?...

Well........I actually really like the brakes much better, no grabbiness, very minimal dust, to me that's a huge plus for the '05!

I got new brakes and now I miss the grabbiness. I think the Touareg stops faster (not really just perception). The non-brembo brakes on the 03's and were the best brakes at the time. And while were griping, after driving the VW, I find the G to be a bit spartan. BUT, that's OK because at the time it was the best interior/performance combo for the price. Since 03, a ton of new products and redesigns are out that make for better options and mopre interesting choices. It's wonderful to be a buyer now. I am committed to ownership for 10 or more years and while everyone wants more, I'll just drive the wifes car if I need a luxury fix. My car is what it is and it rocks. After her VW lease, the new car could be a pretty killer car since there will be car payment on the G. We'll either have kids, or a new 4 door Porsche sedan! LOL I guess if there's no kids then there will be a good argument for the Cayman. Anyone read up on that thing? 911 sales may dry up except to all the badge buyers (Or turbo buyers).

The only complain I have is the heavy brake dust. I have to wipe those wheels every freaking weekend to keep them clean.

Hmmm let me think about this ... 298hp, manual transmission, rwd, heated leather seats, sunroof, 18" wheels - all for under $30K. I'm pretty satisfied. The 03s interior did seem just a tiny bit cheaper to me, but the 05 upgrades have been just enough to make me feel like I "might" be in a luxury sedan - which is all I'm asking for

To be fair, if mine was plagued with the rattles and issues I'd be pretty severely annoyed too
