I put in a set of Polk tweeters where the stock ones are in the door. The switch gives you a better, heavier speaker and more importantly gives you a lower crossover allowing the mids to play throught the tweets. It's the best mod I've ever done.

Really like our I35 but luv our 05 G35. But only complaint is the windows creek so bad. I can open the back doors when it is hot out and thats all it does. So annoying so it is in the shop for the second time to see if they can fix it!

In my case, I got this car because I wanted an inexpensive daily driver. If I sell or trade it, I'm sure it's going to cost $5-7000. To spend that to drive a car 5 months would be hard to justify. I keep hoping it will get totalled or stolen, but that isn't a very likely solution.

Soooo, I let the cost / mile improve as my frustration increases, until I get to the point where I bite the bullet. I'm probably getting close. While appraising the car for me, the sales manager asked if I had considered the new M's. I told him that I was too bitter towards them and Infiniti to ever buy another, and that I would rather make what I consider a real upgrade, like to a '72 Pacer. That wasn't much of an exageration.

Hey that Pacer on Pimp My Ride the other night was Smoking. Except for the juice machine in the back with real wheat grass growing in the sill!

Have you considered that in the process of getting "totalled", you might die? Also, you could be killed or injured during a theft of the vehicle (carjacking, surprising a thief in the act of stealing it, etc.). Watch what you wish for.

Your overall level of unhappiness is very unusual - just what great car are you comparing this to? Many people have found one area or another to complain about (stereo, driver's seat, speeding tickets ) - but to be so thoroughly unsatisfied with so many aspects of the car is rare.

You are entitled to your opinion - better luck in the future.

How about some pics of your car? Maybe it's like the Mini commercial where someone just slapped on some Infiniti badges and actually sold you a Pacer.

I'm hoping it gets totalled by a tree falling on it while parked, or some similarly safe event. And as far as a carjacking, I think I'd be safe since I wouldn't put up any resistance, and would try to help the thief out with a little gas money.

I realize that this forum probably isn't the best place to vent, and I'm glad for all of you who are having such positive experiences. As I mentioned, I think my not getting anywhere in trying to repair the transmission and the front end have just soured me so much, that I now dwell on ALL the niggling little complaints to arrive at being completely unsatisfied. I truly consider this the worst car I've ever owned.

Post some pics for us.....at least that way we know your not a TL owner just trying to stir the pot. I guess there are always gonna be lemons out there, but to say a Pacer would be an upgrade?

I immediately noticed clicking in the doors (well documented), and within 1000 miles it had developed the following problems:driver's seat was rocking and squeekingbuzzing from the back of the caran almost constant buzzing from the dashA squeeking noise from the front end

I've taken it to the dealership many times. The seat track was replaced, solving that issue, but absolutely no progress on the rattles. I honestly think they try, but as the technician told me, it is very difficult to troubleshoot rattles. At this point, I feel I need to let it go and live with it, but I'll never be satisfied with this car. Very disappointing for a luxury brand. And I don't think this is uncommon as every loaner I've driven is also full of squeeks and rattles (drove a brand new '05 last week).

I know that mechanically G's are very sound, but I find these so called "minor" issues very annoying. Granted, I am very picky, but this is my 3rd Nissan product ('07 Altima, '01 Maxima) and my experience with these cars was very positive. Both cars were rock solid after 50k miles - no rattles or problems.

Infiniti needs to improve their quality before they can really compete. They seem to spend all their development $$ on the drivetrain and neglect other aspects of the car. It is very disappointing to step up to a luxury brand and experience such annoyances. I LOVE the new M and would consider buying one if my G35 experience had been more positive.
This is odd, as the one of the points that the salesman stressed was Infiniti's quality of build and that they had extended the "squeak and rattle" warranty to 3 years and 36K miles. I have had no problems (other than a wind noise, well documented, in the drivers rear quarter panel window, fixed) that have not been addressed

80% Happy

I like the car, but I came out of a Lexus. The G35 is not built anywhere close to Lexus standards. I would say that it is no better than any other Nissan.

My Windows creak and the seat is not comfortable. The engine is the best I have ever owned.

My biggest gripe is the climate control design. It does not offer the flexibility like other cars. The A/C must be on if you are using recirculated air. This is a pain in the $ss especially in the winter when you only want the recirculated air and the damn A/C compressor kicks in at 50F This also creates a lot of unnessary wear and tear on the A/C system.

No squeeks or rattles here (05 X), and if you think the Infiniti build quality is similar to the Nissan badge, you obviously haven't driven a Nissan (that's not to say it is to Lexus standards, as I haven't found a Lexus I'd like to own, hence haven't driven one myself). But I have to say I do not like the orange LEDs in the G that they chose for the instruments etc. The 05 RL has a fantastic cobalt blue LED they use which is absolutely fantastic (to my eye). My wife got a new 4Runner this year too... damn orange LEDs again, sigh.

That is hands down the funniest thing I've read on this forum. Well, the funniest thing that was intentionally so anyway.

I think I've mentioned this to you before, Tony, but I feel your pain. I was soured on all American cars by a single '88 Olds Calais Quad 4 5MT. The dissatisfaction was so great, the disillusionment so large that I can't envision ever buying another GM, Ford or Chrysler again. Which is totally unfair to Ford and Chrysler, since they didn't have anything to do with the piece of fecal matter GM sold me. But it is what it is.

Good luck, and I'm sorry about your bad experience with Nissan and Infiniti.
