05' G35 6MT Purchase

...is in line. The sales man wanted me to take it immediately, I said no way. For one, the interest rate didn't match w/ the payments. I am supposed to get 2.9 he quoted me with 3.9 (I figured this out when I got home). Anyway MSRP for the 05 6MT w/ aero and sunroof is 32,910. With 10G down he tells me I am looking at 459.00/month 60 mo.
I said that is way too high. After about an hour and I tell him I am leaving he finally gets to 429.00/60 . I don't know why, but we were adjusting the monthly payment instead of the final cost of the car. So for 60 @ 429 total cost is 31,463 (pre tax). However, that is w/ the 3.9%. So, taking 2.9% w/ the 31,463 + tax etc. my payments should be 418.55.

Now, carsdirect.com gave me a target price for 30,834 w/ the aero package. It's about 600 over the invoice (~30,200). I would be paying about 1200 over invoice I guess.
Do you guys think I am being offered a fair deal?

First off, dont let them get away with negotiating monthly payments, that's a scam. Just work from amount over invoice, interest rate, and fees. As for 1200 over invoice for an 05 6MT, that sounds about average. I paid a little more than that, others have paid less.

Yeah, I knew that was a scam, it was lingering in the back of my mind during negotiations. Thanks for the input. One reason he said I couldn't get too much off the invoice was because of availability. I live in the northeast and there are not too many available 6mt's around.
I am going to bring the carsdirect.com printoff to the dealership, tell him that is my offer and see what happens. I also made a word document w/ the detail something along the lines of:
Price: 30,834
Tax: 1850
Fees: 167.5
Total: 32851.54
Down: -10000
Amt to finance: 22851.54
For 60 @ 2.9 = 409.60/mth.
Invoice for the car came out to 30,234.00.

I bought mine last Saturday. Paid $800 over invoice plus got a $300 discount on the tint job.
If your credit score 700 or above, you should receive 2.9% for 60 months automatically (valid till end of June). My dealer got me approved with a score even less than that.
Your dealer is trying to steal from you.

I think a lot of the price depends on where you live and demand for the 6spd. I purchased my 6spd aero w/ premium and got it for $300.00 over invoice. You should not pay more than $500.00 over invoice in my opinion. Once the price is agreed upon the payments are what they are. If you have a good credit score don't settle for anything less than 2.9.

Good luck

What is the invoice for a 05 G35 Sedan with auto? What should I pay for Package C and the Aero package?

Go to www.edmunds.com You can price out that package and it will give you invoice, MSRP, and the True Market Value.

If carsdirect.com is giving you a better price, why not just get it from them? Plus, remember, carsdirect.com is just facilitating a deal between you and some other dealer and charging you $500 on top of what the dealer is getting. So, some dealer out there (probably close to you) is willing to sell it for $1,000 less than what you're being offered. Call around, talk to fleet/internet sales managers in your local area, bet you can save some $$.

I picked up the 6MT on Wednesday. Simply amazing ride so far - traded a 00 maxima with 136k on it. The thieves at the dealership I went with lied to me twice during negotiations. We came to a verbal agreement and then they presented me with numbers that were 3k different. They crapped their pants when I took out my financial calculator, and then made me a great offer after I caught them. Unfortunately, they didn't have the car they sold me, so I looked around at other dealerships. After everything, I stuck with the thieves for 36,600 and they gave me an additional 3100 bucks on my trade. We don't need to cover what I didn't tell them about the trade... Negotiating monthly payments can become your advantage if you know how to calculate them - dealers assume you don't know....

Start with this link and go through the build with options.

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/infi...69/prices.html

Then print out the report. You should get to know that website well. There is very good information there to learn how to deal with the buying process.

Carsdirect allows you to buy threw them?
How does this work?
Actually I'll go check it out.
On another note, there is only 1 infiniti dealer in my area, the next closest is probably a 2 hour drive. I am going into the stealership tomorrow and giving them my offer and leaving.

6mt's are rare only if you believe the sales guy

heck, I was at a saab dealer a while ago and with his parking lot awash with 92x's he told me they were rare and selling like hot cakes, whatever, when I was about to leave, then he broke down and started telling me the deals...

They aren't lying about the rareness in upsate Ny for the 6MT. He gave me the print off. There are only about 10 they can get ahold of but they have nothing to trade with another dealership. They will have a 6mt at the dealership in about 8 days but it is not the color I wanted. I think I may hold off until August. They have one being built now that has yet to be serialized. Its an OB/graphite which is what I want. Also, I went to all the dealerships websites in NY, they literally have nothing on the lot besides the X.
My bargaining would be much more attainable if they had what I wanted in stock and wanted to move it. Unfortunately they don't. I guess if I want the g35 I am only going to get it for about 600 uunder MSRP.

Im new to the forums, but I will also be an official owner by Wendesday the 22nd.

Im guessing we're all discussing sedan's here since were in the sedan forum..just want to check.

Anyway, I just finalized the deal on my 05 6MT G35 sedan with premium package, diamond graphite/graphite. My final price was Invoice ($31,710), plus $94 for wheel locks (they would not budge any lower) plus the $399 dealer fee.

In the end I feel like I got a great deal; anyone want to confirm/deny this?

Cant wait to have the car.

298 hp = Drool
