Was all set to get the TL in a 6 spd til I drove it and experienced the terrible torque steer of the 6 spd. I don't understand how anyone could live with it, the automatic TL has much less torque steer and is bearable. Other than that the TL is a fine car with a fabulous interior.

2005 Infiniti G35 Saloon or 2005 Acura TL

I was in a similar predicament in the middle of May 2005; I purchased a 2005 G35 sedan for my 29th birthday. I made sure I test drove every possible Japanese and European competitor of the G35 that were available in Canada as of that time. I personally found the TL to be quite a nice car the accoutrements are quite impressive. I however felt that the TL is a car suited more for someone 20 years older than I, there are also four other 2004/2005 TLs in my neighborhood. I think the TL becomes interesting if you select the entire A-Spec package and not just the body kit. The Infiniti G35/Nissan Skyline 350 GT is a unique looking car that truly is the Japanese competitor of the venerable BMW 3 series. I did not purchase the new BMW 3 series because I only like the M3.

the interior is what i car the most about and i kinda feel that the G is out of TL's league considering the interior
not to be offensive to all of u G drivers
here is what i feel
- wtf is the purpose of that clock thing
- interior need to be upgrade big time
speed , sure maybe the G is a bit better. I test drove 3 TLs and never have a rattle. But i do notice there are complains

Please, before you go saying the G is out of the TL's league, take a look at all the improvements for the '05, IMO it's as good if not better than the TL's interior! Technically, it is a digital clock, but it's an Infiniti trademark!

Infiniti is assuming that if you have the means to buy one of their products, you will also be able to tell time via old fashion method. Perhaps, this assumption is in error? I personally like the "ugly *** clock," as you so cleverly named it . . . But then again, to each his/her own.

No . . . He, RS_TL_ LOVER, is probably right. The ugly clock is truly UGLY and definitely a deal breaker for the majority of potential Infinit(y) buyers.

Actually, the G35 is just simply a big piece of crap on 4 wheels. Okay? . . . Feel better? Your decision has now being justified. You obviously had already made up your mine. You were simply waiting for a push. Glad to be of service. Enjoy your new ride and drive safely.

Is there a rivarly between the G and TL? I feel like I always being stare down by TL owners. They are both nice cars with very loyal owners. I am came from a Prelude and when I first test drived the G35, I realized what RWD is all about. I like Hondas, speically the VTEC but I think the G35 has earn the respect in the automobile community. Both cars also have serious flaws. Early G has brake issues and Honda always has problem with their V6 automatic transmisssions. I wouldn't mind getting either of the two but I just find G35 more enjoyable to drive. Sometime I find myself driving the G without a destination. Just test drive both cars and see which car you like.

The TL has that hideous indented line down each side. Ruins the entire car. I think the TSX looks better.

The interior of the TL is nice though. Haven't seen a G 05 sedan interior yet.

hmm..

Well it all depends on what you want as a driver.

Are you looking for something more nible and sporty?

if so, get the g35.. you wont be dissapointed.

if your going for comfort hands down get the TL

the TL is larger and more refined IMO. the interior as stated by someone b4 me is hands down superior too and the engine noise is... what engine noise???

its sooo quiet!!

but all in all, the TL and the G35 are both great cars, you woulnt regret buying either, good luck with your purchase and let us know what you got!
