August incentives?

Anybody have any inside information on August incentives for the sedan? Lease rates? Rebates?

Thanks.

Yeah, I'd like to know as well. I'm thinking about getting a G35x and I'd love to get an extra grand or so off...

The interesting thing is that the July rates that are on Edmunds are not correct according to my dealer. He said that they were 2.99 and 3.99, not 1.99 and 3.99. Can anyone else confirm that?

Infiniti's Offer Site has been Updated!

This is still showing the July offers, but it's still a link, it should be updated soon I would think. I just checked, this site has been updated, but no mention of any incentives. IMO, sometimes Edmunds isn't the most reliable source.

Edmunds claims that Infiniti is offering dealers a $1000 incentive on sedans, so even if you buy the car at invoice, they still make about $2000 on you ($1000 incetive + holdback).

I was told in July that the $1,000 manufacturer to dealer was for purchases only. The lease incentive was something like a full point off (ie .0014 vs. .0024), but you couldn't take the cash plus the financing.

As for holdback... there are two different schools of thought about including holdback on negotiations with a dealer. I think the vast majority feel that you just don't touch holdback. Most (including me) also don't consider holdback as dealer "profit".

Of course the holdback is part of the dealer profit. WHo else would be profiting besides the dealer? Management and sales usually do not get paid on the holdback, but it is still profit for the dealer, and is used to calculate the true net invoice, that is why the holdback amount is written in the invoices.

Paid Invoice plus $ 500 with a Lease at 3.99 % with a good buyout at end of lease, which we will purchase the vehicle, low payment for 3 years than purchase, sure we will pay a few dollars more but low payments is a good option. Love the vehicle.

No, I got both the 1.99% for 36 months plus the dealer incentive. Bought on 7/23 - 05 G35 sedan (AT), Prem B, Sport-tuned suspension, splash guards, trunk mat & wheel locks for $31850. Went through Costco to get a dealer to sell at invoice, then told him that I expected the 1000 incentive. Dealer didn't flinch. Should have tried for more!

You didn't read the comments in full. The $1,000 discount is apparently only for a purchase, not a lease. In other words, you get either:

1) $1,000 off with discounted financing (1.99% or 3.99%) for purchase

OR

2) no $1,000 but discounted money factor on a lease

I'm simply trying to verify if this is indeed correct and if it is still available in August.

Mike, your post confuses me... the 3.99% you mention sounds like an annual percentage rate on a purchase, not the money factor for a lease. Did you purchase or lease your car? If you leased, what was your residual and money factor?

not sure if i'm following, but so is 2000 of invoice what dealer break even costs are in August. And so i should aim somewhere around 500 above that mark for my price for a sedan?

xltros - aim wherever you want during negotiations, but I think it is a stretch to expect $1,500 under invoice. At best, I'd hope for $1,000 under. (This is of course assuming that the cash incentive is still in place for August.)

The issue on dealer holdback is very touchy. Most people don't include it in their negotiations and I'm certain that the vast majority of dealerships will refuse to haggle on it.

Best of luck.

I've included dealer holdback in the last 5 cars purchased. It was never a touchy subject. Invoice - Cust rebate - dealer incentive - holdback + profit + destination.

I worked with the sales manager directly and just faxed them my offer. If they "ok" my offer then we have a deal. If they do not then I keep faxing to local/regional sales managers. For some reason, the work involved doing it this way is less painful to me then sitting in a showroom.

interesting, what amount did you put as profit and how'd you come up with this?
