Brake wear poll!

Since so many people on this list are reporting premature brake wear, what do you think of conducting a poll to tabulate actual experiences. Items included could start with; Year model and # of miles currently on vehicle. How often (miles) have your pads been replaced?, Ditto rptors? (front and rear), Cost to replace. Dealer or independent shop? Used factor or aftermarket pads/rotors? etc., etc.

Pads changed twice so far, both covered under warranty @ right around 15k of use.
Rotors not touched, no other brake problems.

2005 6MT, 2500 miles no problems yet. I usually get 40K to 45K out of the fronts, hopefully this car will last that long.

2004 Cpe 6MT, 28500 miles and found out yesterday I need to replace the Brembo pads already. My service guy said around 30k is "very, very common" for the Brembos... I am less than thrilled to put it mildly.

Just sold 03 Sedan with 48K miles. Front rotors/pads and rear resurface/pads changed under warranty THREE times . Car used for daily freeway commute (40 miles each way, car pool lane so not much braking in heavy traffic). Just replaced with 05 Sedan; front brakes look a little bigger; we'll see.

Just sold my '04 in July, the front barkes, pads and rotors were replaced at 15k, there was just under 3mm left on the pads.

2004 6MT Sedan. Over 22,000 miles - no brake replacements yet (dealer inspected at 15,000 mile service - no problems).

In fact, that's one reason why they gave me no hassle with my 6MT replacement - "obviously, you haven't driven the car too hard".

Driven - Yes!
Braked - No!

Worst brake wear experience

Bought my 2003 5AT sedan with 27K on it from a local Infiniti dealer. Dealer records said brakes were changed at about 24K. I now have almost 30K, and the passenger side front brake "warning" squeal is sounding. Took off the front wheel and sure enough, not a lot of pad left. Bummer! And, I don't do a lot of hard braking.

....

replaced front pads at about 40k (bought used at 34k) just raplaced the rears with Hawks to match the Hawks on the fronts, no more squeaking or massive dust issues and I didn't give up any stopping distance
