I miss everything about my G except...

Hi everyone!

Thought I'd stop by and see what's up!

Like my title said, I miss everything about my G35x except when I go to the gas station. I haven't accurately checked the mileage on my 03 Accord yet, but I'm getting about 400 miles in mixed driving per fillup. And that's with a 17 gallon tank. I was lucky to get 300 miles out of my G with a 20 gallon tank. But in every other respect the G kicks the pants off the Accord.

LOL . . . Good, I'm glad you are appreciating your new found gas mileage. Geez . . . That is good mpg for mixed driving.

^^^No doubt on the mileage.

However, something tells me that the Honda is not as predisposed to...um.. sprited driving.

Ironically, I just traded in a 2003 Accord for a new G35x. Going from 22+ MPG to 19 MPG is, I have to say, rather exceedingly worth it.

A couple hundred dollars I pay more for premium gas is COMPLETELY worth the driving experience I have over a camcord. I'd pay waaaay more if I had to

Accord 4 popper or V6?

Sorry. After driving this car, I can't ever see myself in 'just another box' on the road.

I can get 22MPG doing mixed if I behave myself. Any real hit on gas mileage is my own fault, so I'm digging it. The 98 Maxima I traded out of barely did better than that because my foot was constantly to the floor to get her to MOVE. With this car, all I have to do is curl a toe and I'm deep in the 'red' zone.

Enjoy the box. After rolling in the G, I don't know how you do it.

I get varied MPG in my g35. My in town driving (a couple of miles between stops, lots of stop lights, a couple of bridges) MPG stinks. I am in the 13s, but there is alot of stop start, and acelleration (mild). I think the low MPG is because of the short distances I am driving. They add up to terrible mileage.

Get me on the open road, and I am very pleased with the mileage.

On my last roadtrip, I think I got 22.X with the cruise set to 82 mph. I'm sure if I was driving at 60 mph, the mileage would have been better the rated MPG for this car.

I had a BMW 330i that I once got 32.2 MPG in and it could do over 500 Highway miles on a tank. I was going to get a hybrid Accord so that I could eeek out those extra few MPG. Then I drove the 05 G35. I sold the Bimmer and Bought the G35. Now I am enjoying wasting copious amounts of gas. I used to watch the MPG dial in the bimmer to get every last mpg I could. I would even put the 5 speed in Nuetral going down hills to save gas. I was able to get 24 MPG with the 330i even in traffic with this technique. Now I just say forget it and punch that big old V6. I guess Nissan has turned me to the dark side. The thrill of the G35’s acceleration is just too much to resist!

I just filled yesterday. Pulled into the station at 417 miles; filled on 18 gallons. I thought for sure there could only be .5 gallon left... pleasantly surprised. 23mpg +... my best yet. The bulk of my driving is highway on a stretch where the limit is 75, and I average 80.

Good to hear you are doing well, with rising gas prices, it's definitely a bit more painful at the pumps, but there is no way I'm getting rid of the X , unless it was for another .
Keep in touch fotodad.

Cars prior to the Evo...M3 and turbo'd Integra...

Don't know how he did it and keep himself happy.

G35 to a used Accord ... now that is a big move. Probably saved a bunch of cash, plus gas & insurance every month - good for you.

My attitude is this will be the last semi 'gas guzzler' I own before hybrids take over the country. Maybe three to four years from now I'll grab a hybrid Altima or Accord that gets 35mpg - especially since by then gas will probably be $5 a gallon ... but until then I'll enjoy every second of the VQ

What about a G35 Hybrid? I am banking on that in 08. That is the sole reason I did a 3 year lease on my current G35. If they make a 4-door Hybrid G35 that looks halfway decent, I will pay what ever amount of money they are asking for it!
