Well I just got my Helix test pipes installed about a month ago and today my CEL goes on. I am pretty sure its due to the emissions control. Has anybody experienced this or had this?

 

Yep, I have the kinetix resonated and the SES light came on within a day. I did a pedal reset and it went out for a few days, then came back. I dont care about it anymore. It has no effect on performance, just an alert to comply with OBDII. I wouldnt worry about it unless you live in a smog check county. I am lucky enough to live in an area not needing to do that to re-register my tabs.

I would definately not drive around with a Check engine light on. How will you know if you actually did get a real code?

 

I have had the car for 3 years and drive it every day. If something is not right, I will feel it before some light tells me.

 

This is funny...Today the CEL went off today. Car feels same either way.
