Weird thing happened with VDC

So I was at a friends and of course, some of his friends wanted to see and ride in the G. So I was telling them the features VDC, VLSD, sport tuned suspension etc, then decided to show them how it worked.

I showed them that with VDC on, it was tough to peel out... Then I went into a cul-de-sac, turned VDC off and showed them how it worked. Gave it plenty of gas and cut the wheel. The odd thing was that after I did this the VDC off light would not go off and the Slip light also stayed on. I had to turn-off the car and restart for it to go back to normal. Did I just confuse the computer or what the hell happened?

Sounds like you threw it into limp mode. How was performance after the lights illuminated and remained lit?

Actually it scared the **** out of me that I didn't try any other moves after I saw that. I immediately pulled into a neighborhood and restarted the car. That got things back to normal.

Should I have the dealer look into it or do you think it's just a "freak" thing?

EDIT: I should have searched first. I just found this: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/65922-stuck-slip-light-vdc-off.html

I think I may have just really freaked the living **** out of the computer and it didn't know what was going on.

The car has two traction control systems. TCS and VDC so the other one was kicking in. You can only turn off the VDC so this will happen sometimes, happened to me before too.

If the car has behaved normally since you did the restart, I'd write it off as a one-time incident and keep an eye on things for awhile. Most likely you freaked your VDC system out and it panicked.

When you turn off the VDC it's not TRULY off, there are still times during extreme maneuvers when it'll kick back in for safety.

However, when you turn it off and do a couple donuts, you'll get the light to stay on. Now VDC is REALLY off

Nothing to worry about, it's not a bug it's a "feature".... or something.

Good to know! I guess I can say I've done some "extreme maneuvers" in my G now.
