Brake Warranty-2005

Could somebody confirm what the brake warrantly is on the 2005? There's nothing indicated in the Warranty Booklet and my dealership is telling me it's 12K/1 year.

Thanks

I dont know for sure but it better be more than 12k cause brakes are supposed to last for atleast 25k. It's prolly somewhere around 24k/2 year. Call around to different dealers and see if they differ

There isn't a brake warranty on the '05, it was just for the '03 and '04 G35. Brakes are considered a wear item anyway, like tires, unless there was a failure of some part not just wear. I'd be surprised if there was even a 12k on them. I bet the brakes on the '05 don't wear quickly like the previous G's, I don't have a brake dust problem at all on my '05, and the brakes aren't grabby at all like my '04.

I have 7000 miles on my '05 and my dealer is changing the rear brakes today. They've been squealing the past few weeks. I'm not sure how bad they were worn....I will ask when I go in today.

Is yours a X/awd? I heard the X has the same brakes as the 04, and only rwd has new brakes. I have 8k on my 05 and brakes seem okay to me, but I never drive it hard or need to floor the brakes.

Yes! I was told by a reliable source that there have been no brake issues with the '05's at my dealer! Did the '04 X have a brake warranty and excessive wear?

I think if the 05's brake wear out before 36k then I will bring it to the dealer kicking and screaming for new brakes.

I have an X. The dealer told me that the brakes were wearing quicker than normal but the real problem was the squealing. They changed them for free.

just had my 04 x in the shop and the ft brakes and rotors were replaced worn down to 2 mils at 14,500 miles. I also posted a topic about my steering wheel wearing out and they are going to replace it when it comes in.

Yes, the 04 X has the 3 year/36K brake warranty.

I have an 03.5 and have had the pads replaces 3 times and the rotors once. I will be bringing it in soon for the back ones. Btw I only have 29k on the car. Once I pass 36k and the warranty expires Im changing the pads to aftermarket ones.

I wonder why they didn't change the brakes on the '05 X then, maybe the pads?

I believe they didn't change the design because they wanted to retain "winter wheel" compatibility.
