Thumbs up Top speed of my car

Hey, I am just wondering how fast a g35 goes with the racing suspension pack thing from infiniti , an aero package from infiniti, hp exaust, and a sport racing intake.

If you could just estimate the speed that would be great

?? The top speed for the G35 you've described is the same as the top speed of a G35 without any of those mods, since you'll hit the speed limiter in both. How quick you GET to the speed limiter, now THAT may change.

no because i know that something with the speed limiter was ajusted, and exceeds the normal top speed.

You should add "ECU modification" to your mods list then. That could have a marked impact on how those other mods (exhaust, intake) stack up.

I don't really understand when people talk about car performance, and they bring up top speeds. I mean, all cars have a rev limiter/governor, and any car could go high speeds from 100 to 150. But why the hell would anyone need to go 150??
At those speeds...one thing goes wrong...lights out. Tire blow, hit road debris, etc..

The real question goes back to what Doogie is saying. How fast your car gets up there, but I still think it's stupid and unsafe to try to take a car to top speed of 150. I think 0-60 or 0-85 possibly a 100 on the track or on the freeways is reasonable.

PaulieJr....try using the search function on the home page, a lot of your questions can be answered like this by bringing up old posts where there has already been a lot of discussion.

I agree. Top speed has very little to do with all out performance and I don't quite know why so many people hold top speed as the pinnacle of performance. There are lots of "slow" (high 14s/low 15s) cars out there that actually have very high top speeds because of the their gearing, torque curve, and aero dynamics. An example is the prior gen BMW 740i. It did 14.5-14.7@96mph in the 1/4 mile and was electronically limited to around 155mph. Without the limiter, the car was capable of ~165mph. Now let's look at the C5 Vette. A stock 350hp 6MT C5 hardtop was capable of ~176mph (drag limited I believe). It did upper 12s in the 1/4 mile. Then there was the 405hp C5 Z06. It did the 1/4 mile in the lower 12s and accelerated much harder, at any speed, than the standard C5. But guess what? It was only capable of a gear limited 168mph.

Truth be told, the G35 is electronically limited to around 148mph. It's probably capable of lower 150s, but who really cares? When could you ever put that to use and why would you even want to do such thing in a car that isn't reinforced for high speed wrecks? I wouldn't even do it in a controlled environment. At least not without a cage, helmet, and fire suit and a road that's been inspected for debris, sand, and oil.

You should really try doing some research for yourself and stop with the silly questions.

You will be in the low 3's for 0-60- I am hitting 60 in about 3.4 seconds. It's mainly because I've got the premium package with intelligent key- it makes my car fly!

Well, I added the 350z midpipe and the coupe springs/shocks, so my car performs like the lingenfelter TT vette. Now, if I repainted the car red, it would be even faster.
