Picked up my car today. They replaced the "fork clamp" to fix the transmission problem. Not sure what that means, however, my clutch seems way different. It now engages at 15% versus 80%. Very different feel, but better if you ask me. The clutch now grabs early versus really late. Until the next repair.

Took the car back in the shop today. My car now won't go in 5th gear.

3Aims, you are right about lemon laws being tough to collect on. Problems must be recurring. Although it sounds as if you're getting close with the tranny. I'd pursue it, you never know.

I had similar problems with my 05 Volvo S60R, although with that car, it's more the norm than the exception (very troublesome car). One guy on the Volvo board was successful in getting a new car under the lemon laws.

As you well know, Infinity has a good record in this area (# of problems and reliability) and your next car will probably be trouble free. My car is low miles yet, but I have had zero problems so far.

I think I am going to take it by Carmax after it gets out of the shop and see what I can get for it. If the price is right I may cut bait.

Well, that's a painful route to go, but I just did it with the Volvo, and I know you'll do better than I did. Volvo resale sucks.

If your making payments....there's always "Holder in Due Course" as an answer. (especially if you financed w/Infiniti) You essentially stop making direct payments to Infiniti, but rather to an escow account in your and Infiniti's name until a satisfactory solution has come about. This will have no bearing on you credit histiory (not in NJ anyway...so check your local stats) Just inform your Infiniti dealer and Infiniti Financial of your intentions and have at 'em. UBCool,jbx

I was going to make a comment about you being "depressed" but after reading your problems, I don't blame your emotional state. Best of luck with your car. My 05 6MT on cold starts does not want to go into first. So what I am doing now is that before moving with the engine running, shift all the gears, then start moving. This seems to solve the problem.
I have more than once thought of trading the 6mt for an automatic.

BBB Autoline, I'm telling ya, it's a really easy process. All car manufacturers have to abide by autoline policies, and it's totally free. With the problems you've described it's gonna be a pretty cut and dry case.

that is nutz, i would definitly be one pissed off camper. i have had my G for 35000 miles and the only thing i have had to change was the brakes.

Picked up my car today after another week in the shop. The car drives, more importantly shifts, great again. Knock on wood, but I hope all of my problems are gone. The work order form from my last two tranny visits looks like a phone book. Lots of little parts were replaced.

The dealer was very helpful, again. I can't say enough about the dealer (Sewell - Dallas). Even the dealer is puzzled why my car is cursed with so many problems.
