Had the car 3 weeks and someone hit it in the parking lot
#2
That really sucks. I hate when people do that.
I had a 90 Thunderbird SuperCoupe that was hit to the tune of $4000 in a parking lot about 12-13 years ago. A friend and myself went to a nightclub to meet some friends. I specifically parked in a spot that had a garbage bin beside it as I figured the spot was too narrow for someone to try and park there.
Somebody tried and wrecked my car. As the paint left on my car was a white, non standard car finish type of paint, the cops thought that my friend or I had hit a mailbox or something (yeah! 4k mailbox...). Anyway, I had witnesses in the bar that said I never left and as my friend had left (by cab) they accused him of taking my car and putting it back. Didn't look good as he took my keys so he could grab some stuff he purchased earlier in the day from the trunk of my car. When he returned to give back the keys, he couldn't find me so he gave the keys to the waitress - whom I didn't see until the next day since I was outside looking at my car and left without saying bye to her (she was a good friend of mine, so her having the keys wasn't a problem)
After a month of the cops trying to make my friend say that he did it, they called me and told me that they had the vehicle - an older pickup with a homemade bed, with white paint. One of those flat bed type of things. Apparently a kid stole it from his mother while she was sleeping and went on a rampage that night. He hit a number of cars. They had this vehicle since day one, yet were trying to pin it on my friend. The cop asked me to apologize to my friend for him. I told him where to go and said that he should call and apologize.
**** happens, what can you do???
Again, sorry to hear that this happened to you.

Already tried to get that stuff off, but I think it's the base color of the bumper.
It's getting fixed next week so I'll just live with it.

Sorry to hear about the hit and run Good luck with the repair.

Thanks
They said they are now authorized to repair the bumper and fender but not replace them. That can change if they body shop feels replacement is necessary.
I would think that with repair only there would be less painting than if they have to replace both items???
Any ideas on this?
I had a silver Mitsubishi that had rear damage and the paint matched perfectly.
The job is being done by the dealer who has a central body shop for all his dealerships. It's approved by the insurance company an fully guaranteed.
Any parts, if needed, would be original factory from Infiniti.
