Soon to be owner

I pretty set on purchasing a G35 Sedan, black on black. I came to this decision today, after I dropped off my Acura TL for it's second transmission. I made a deal today with a dealer and will be purchasing a 6MT, Premium, and Aero kit for 31,559 including destination charge. Here is my dilemma. Do I lose the Premium package and go for the Navigation package? I cannot have both, I'm trying to keep the total cost under 35K. Thanks.

I would just go the whole 9 yards and get both... You rather regret that you got it than regret not having it later. you don't only use the nav. when you're lost but it's like a map quest to get to a destination. It's a route destination and will save you time.

Re: Soon to be owner

Kind of random story, but I pulled in to a gas station today and saw a family trying desperately to get into a locked 95 thunderbird with a coat-hanger. Turns out they locked their keys in the car, were on their way home to St.Louis, and had been standing there for an hour... I explained the inner-working of the door to the dad, gave him some help with the coat-hanger, and got them free in about 5 minutes.. after that, they had no clue how to get home. I jumped in my car, looked up their address on the Nav system, and pointed them in the right direction.
Sometimes it's a saint- I can't tell you how many times people have called me on the road and said "come to so-and-so's house, here's the address" and I've gotten straight there. I no longer ask people for directions, just their street address-- makes it a lot faster, AND you can bypass traffic because you can see all the side-streets no one else can I'd get both, but if I could only get one?... probably the Nav, just because I'm now addicted. Memory seats, etc. are nice, but my guess is that when you go to sell the car, the nav will add a bit of value that will give you a leg-up on the competition. Of course, there are people who think the exact opposite, but that's why that's just my opinion

Re: Soon to be owner

Is it possible to get the Navigation Package without the Premium Package? From all I've seen online (carsdirect.com, infiniti.com), it sounds like you must purchase the Premium Package if you want the Navigation Package.

If you can get the Navi alone, that will make my decisions a little more complicated. :-)

I'm new the forum. I'm very interested in the G35, though I haven't gotten out to do a test drive yet. If I like it as much as I think I will, I may have a new G35 Sedan in the next few weeks. :-)

What I found is that although theoretically, options are listed separately, to get only what you really want would take a special order and many months. So, most of the Gs come in with the premium package. Initially, I didn't want all the bells and whistles of the premium package, but now that I have em, I like em and use all of them. Don't have the Navi. Loved it, but didn't wanna go for the added expense after the premo package/aero/winter.

Re: Soon to be owner

The dealer said I have another option. Same car but with the sport package, aero kit, navigation. Is there a difference between the Sport and Premium package? And what is the "Aero Package"? There seems to be 2 types of aero packages. Thanks.

Re: Soon to be owner

The Nav system requires the Premium package. You can't have Nav without Premium. Go to Infiniti's website and do the build-your-own thing. It won't let you build a car you can't buy.

The Sport-tuned suspension package is separate. It gives you a sportier suspension, 5-spoke 17" rims and (usually) better tires, and the titanium interior trim. May be a couple of other things.

There is an "Aero Package" and an "Aerodynamic Body Kit."
Aero Package: rear spoiler and underbody diffusers. This is what gives you the lower coefficient of drag and zero rear lift. Requires sport-tuned suspension.
Aerodynamic Body Kit: rear spoiler, and body-colored ground effects trim all around the bottom of the car, including a different style front bumper.
You can get both of these packages together (there's a 4-piece Aerodynamic Body Kit that's for this purpose - it doesn't have the spoiler).

Doesn't the 6MT come with the sport package?
