Aftermarket Satellite Radio
Has anyone installed an aftermarket satellite radio in their sedan, I just purchased one from bestbuy that can mount on the window, any pics or advice how you ran the wires would be great. I would love to find a way to power it from the armrest but I have no idea how to do this. I don't want to see wires hanging around.

Don't want to start a flame war or hijacking but hope you got Sirius, after trying both (XM and Sirius) Sirius was better.
But sorry, I got my G35 with Sirius installed so can't help you with suggestions.
But most of the audio places have installers who've installed
satellite radio in just about every car out there. They can suggest a good
place and do a great job.
Be sure to get it hardwired in for best sound and you won't have
to "power from the armrest". It will be powered when you turn
your regular radio on.

Yeah I decided not to pay the $400 for the dealer one and am running a dash mounted XM SkyFi2. I like the added features I get like sports scores, stock quotes, ability to record and playback songs, and ability to bookmark songs.
Right now I'm using the tape adapter and it sounds great, but eventually I'll hard-wire it. FM modulation is a joke, don't both trying that.

I installed the XM car adapter myself. Wire tied the swivel part of the adapter to the air vent on the left of the gauge cluster (had to pop out the vent first), and it looks pretty good - orange lighting even matches the gauges. Ran the antenna wire inside of the trim above the left doors (and can't see it), through the trunck pass-through and along the rear window (outside) to the top of the back window. The wire was just long enough. I have hid the cassette wire and cig lighter power cord as best I could. I planned on hard wiring the signal wire using a PAC (do a search) adaptor ($80), but I read in the kit directions the cassette actually has the best sound quality - so now I don't know. The whole thing took me about one hour. I will, at some point, take the dash apart and hide the wires better. For what its worth, I chose XM because it has more alternative stations, and at the time was cheaper. XM or Sirius, satellite is awesome.

I went with an aftermarket and put the sirius reciever in the center console and ran the sat antenna wire down under the drivers seat under the floor mat and stuffed it in between the rear seat and the side pane. then into the trunk and out of the side of the opening of the trunk and stuffed the wire under the rubber on the outside of the window. ill try to get a better picture tomorrow.

Bestbuy installed my unit yesterday, i have the windshield mount, which looks great. They did a great install, hardwired which is the way to go. on my previous unit I did not hardwire it, looks more professional hardwired. The only thing was they mounted the antena on the trunk, I would have liked it on the roof, but it dosen't look bad just personal preference. I think 03silverg placement is ideal.
