'06 G35X gets bigger brakes; confirm please

I was on the Infiniti site and noticed under specifications/brakes the AWD no longer has the smaller 11" size noted.
Too late for me. I got my 05 G35x 3 months ago knowing that it was shorted the 05 12" brake upgrade (and every other sport/performance option). I checked everywhere I could and everyone made it seem as though the only changes were to be a color addition and bluetooth added. I would have waited. The big brake packages are expensive.
But their are at least 3 pictures under the sedan section that don't jive with the captions (including the opening one that has 2 year old rims). So maybe its a typo? Can anyone confirm.

According to the specifications at Infiniti's website, yes, the '06 X does have the same larger brakes as the sedan and coupe did in '05. Side note, I had an '05 loaner today with 7k on it, and the pads were still thick, (checked them through the open wheel) still almost 10mm, IMO, that's a big improvement.

In the '05 specs, they were different sizes for the sedan and the X.

Bros in law borrowed the car, so i cant check it tonight.

I have the 06 g35 brochure still and its listed there as 12.6/12.1, no exceptions for the x.
I can see them making a mistake on the website, but I doubt they would screw up print material as well...
SO... i guess theres bigger brakes on the 06 x?

I hope so, man what a difference the improved brakes make, and no black wheels! Geez, you're awfully generous with your new ride, I wouldn't be!

He he, my brother in law just picked up a 06 c55 amg 2 months ago. In the shop cuz he blew up his front spoiler, ran over a racoon. Im building up brownie points so i get to drive his benz. I love my G, but 362hp v8..that car is just nutty.

Back to the brakes, its weird how the 05's i test drove felt super grabby, almost to the point where it was distracting. When i picked up the 06, (i never test drove it), i kinda felt the brakes were alot more relaxed, no where as grabby as i remembered it.. dunno if its just my mind messing with me or what.

I'll examine the brakes and post pics as soon as i get a chance.

I assume you are talking about an '05 X here, if the brakes on the '06 feel like you said, that is because they are like the '05 Sedan and Coupe, relaxed is a good way to describe them, not grabby at all, took me a couple of weeks to get used to the '05 over the '04.

the brakes were an issue for 2003 and 2004 versions. They changed the brakes on 2005 versions - they supposedly dont wear out as quickly and produce less dust on rims. The brakes are the same for 2006 as 2005.

Just had my 05X in for the 15K mile service. The pads have 7mm left all around. Not too shabby. But I agree, the brakes are grabby. I will change to ceramic pads (Hawk or Stillen) when the originals wear out, hopefully that will give a better feel.

They didn't change the brakes on the X for '05, maybe the pads were a different type, but the size of the brakes was the same as '04 on the '05 X.

If the 06X brakes are bigger, then it would be nice if Infiniti gave the 05 owners a reasonable price on upgrade.....but I highly doubt that will happen.
